We purchased the Kia Rio5 on a whim, because we needed a newer car that wasn't going to present us with the same issues we were having. This car wasn't exactly our first choice, but after riding in it, we decided to purchase anyway. So glad we did; this little car can really go places. We moved to another state, and we were able to fit so much into it, without struggling for comfort. The gas mileage is also excellent, we average about 29mpg, but it has been better. One thing that is really great is the traction control system. That has been a lifesaver for us. The state we previously resided in was super rainy, so having that kick in to prevent hydroplaning was awesome. Here we get a ton of snow and ice, so it's very helpful keeping us on the road with those. This is the best feature o... (more)
Story
One time we needed to do a ton of errands, including our laundry. Well, we were able to pack the car full of everything, and it looked like we were driving a clown car around town. That's how much stuff we packed into it.
Pros
Favorite feature of this vehicle is the traction control. It gives us peace of mind when we need to go out in bad weather.
Cons
The trunk is very small. To pack things in you'd need to fold the seat down.

We purchased this car back when we weren't really looking. The Rio5 is a small car, but it does hold five passengers a little cramped. Four would be far more comfortable. The one thing that has been both a blessing and a drawback is the traction control. Never having had it, it took quite a bit of adjusting to become accustomed to how and why it works. For entertainment, it has the standard satellite radio, plus we can play both CDs and MP3 discs. There's also a plug in for an iPod and/or an iPhone. That is something we don't have, so we cannot use our own devices to load music through the radio. The car does have good pick up, especially in our mountainous region. The gas mileage improves when on the highway, compared to the city or in town. The maintenance costs can be a bit steep if... (more)
Story
Along the lines of the "clown car," we were able to load a ton of items we shopped for at Christmas time. It was hysterical seeing all that "stuff" sitting in there. It holds a lot.
Pros
Great gas mileage, great pick up when accelerating, and seats are comfortable for long trips.
Cons
Maintenance costs can be steep for the unprepared. The traction system is unnerving if you're not accustomed to it. It was advertised as a five passenger, but it's really only good for four.
