The Kia Rondo I own has been nothing but problems for quite some time now. Everything from the air conditioning, transmission, and more have needed to be repaired. All conveniently right after the 100,000 mile warranty ended might I add. The interior had many nice features but after 140,000 many things have started to break. The durability of the car is just not there. It was an excellent first car for me as a 16 year old. Decent enough gas mileage and plenty of room for all my friends made this a great car for a while. However after replacing my spark plugs, O2 sensors twice, fuel injectors twice, transmission, air conditioner, and more all in the time between 100,000 and 140,000 miles the appeal of the car is long gone. It does have a good stereo system with a 6 cd changer however it... (more)
Story

Cons
Not reliable Interior and exterior falling apart Black paint is very hot in the summer.

2007 Kia Rondo - My Kia Rondo is a gem.

I purchased my 2007 Kia Rondo new, after wrecking another car. Frankly, I chose the Kia because it was one of the cheapest replacement cars I could find. I didn't not expect much, but it has been the best car I've ever owned. The car interior is well constructed and comfortable. I have driven cross country in it and have found the seats to be very comfortable and supportive for long periods of sitting. The seats have held up very well despite lots of use. The interior has many thoughtful design features including roomy center console storage, and even a small hook for holding a trash bag. The Kia Rondo is a smallish SUV, seven seater. The rear seats fold down to create a surprisingly large cargo space. I had been reading about tiny campers and decided to try my Rondo out as a camper... (more)
Story
I decided to try my Kia Rondo out as a minicamper in a state park. I outfitted the back with a futon. However, I didn't realize that in the campground, when I asked for a car camping space, I would be sent to a parking lot, right next to other cars. I hadn't thought to create window covers, so I hastily taped newspapers over the windows for privacy. The next morning, coming back from the rest... (more)
Pros
I love the interior features, including the roomy cargo area, abundant storage around the drivers seat, and the well-constructed, supportive seats. Best of all, it has required very few repairs in the ten years that I've owned it. It is the most reliable and low-cost car I have ever owned.
Cons
There are very few negatives about the Kia Rondo. However, there are a couple of notes. The front wheels are apparently difficult to keep properly aligned, so I have to keep an eye on tire wear. I go to Les Schwab tires for rotations regularly. The stereo is nothing to crow about. If you want great sound, you will want to have a better system installed. Lastly, the plastic devices that control the electric windows wear out easily, and it is an expensive repair -- about $300 to get my window moving again.

The thought of owning a hatchback did not thrill me. After a week with this vehicle, I fell in love! It has a roomy back, I was able to haul all of my shopping bags (being the avid shopper that I am!!), and there was still room to spare! I love my little vehicle. She is reliable and sturdy. The front feels like you are riding in a spaceship.
Story
The day I bought the car. I sat in it for almost two hours looking at the features and really taking in everything the car offers.
Pros
The roominess of the vehicle is one of my most favorite things! When I first thought of hatchbacks, I thought of how little room they must have. Well this car proved me wrong. There was way more room than I could ever imagine! I seriously love this car. The dashboard is big, and the radio controls are awesome. There is a little tray to the left of the steering wheel that comes in handy. In the front passenger seat, there is a purse hook, which I also Love. In my old vehicle, my purse would always fall and tip over!
Cons
The only thing that I would change in this vehicle is to make the cup holder higher and the center storage space a little higher. It is really low in the vehicle and it's hard to reach!
