I really like the support and warranty that comes with the Kia. The vehicle itself might be considered a little unimpressive, but the ratings for safety and drivability are very very good. The vehicle just works whenever I start it up. It's a "Keep It Simple, Stupid" vehicle. With a family, it also avoids the "stigma" of a minivan. It's just as attractive going to church or grocery shopping as it is going out for a night on the town with my wife. It's sporty and spacious at the same time. It's quiet and well put together inside and comfortable enough for long drives. When this one is ready to be replaced, which I don't see happening in the foreseeable future, I'll definitely take my business to Kia again.
Story
The most fun story I can think of in the recent past is that it was small and compact enough to be able to back up to a recent barbecue we had with some neighbors, open up the hatch, and listen to the radio.
Pros
Fantastic reputation and warranty- KIA is excellent. They warranty the vehicle with a five year/60,000 mile limited warranty and a 10 year/ 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty. Affordability- the average price for a standard Kia model is somewhere between $20,000 and $25,000. There are more advanced and expensive/luxury models, with all wheel drive and so forth.
Cons
Not as much space as you want sometimes- it's in the mid size range, but it can be cramped inside during long drives compared to a mini van or other comparative vehicles in this size range. Seating is fine, but the cargo space inside comes up short. It would also be good to have a way to adjust the airflow to the back seats. Maybe there are in the luxury models, but in the basic or standard models, the air is controlled from the front seats. If the driver turns the heat or air conditioning off in front, there's no air going to the back at all. At the same time, it take a while for heated o... (more)

I love my 2011 Kia Sorento. It's so spacious and durable - as a family of 5, this car fits us all perfectly, and we still have plenty of space in the trunk for big strollers and big grocery runs that a family of our size needs. I feel safe in the car being it's an SUV, but it also has a wonderful - life changing - rear camera that I never knew I couldn't live without until I bought this car. This rear camera is so helpful for when I'm backing out of a parking space or out of my garage every day as it beeps and signals you when you're too close to an object. This is such a fantastic safety feature for assuring the safety of my family and it's like a second pair of eyes where you can't usually see clearly. I've never had a problem with this car. It's reliable, the gas it takes is economi... (more)
Story
We have had fun on short road trips / staycations, singing along to the radio in this car. We've also enjoyed answering phone calls from special people like grandma in this car since it has bluetooth capability.
Pros
I love the Kia Sorento's rear camera feature - helps so much with backing up and is such a useful safety feature. The trunk size is so spacious and can accommodate all our items like double strollers and stock up grocery trips. The gas mileage is economical - it takes regular gas. It drives so smoothly. The size (SUV) makes me feel safe on the roads. It has built in Bluetooth so when someone calls, it's handsfree.
Cons
The only thing slightly negative about the Kia Sorento is the cloth interior. With three young children, it's endured quite a bit of spills and stains over the years.

I purchased an 2004 Kia Sorrento approximately fifteen months ago. I have driven the car quite a bit putting almost thirty thousand miles on the car since I bought it. It seems to be a durable car overall. The aesthetic design of the vehicle is nice. It's a bit curvy and not boxy at all. I don't like breadbox vehicles. The vehicle is not hard on oil, at every change my oil still looks clean and almost new. It is a big of a gas hog but the 3.5 liter engine packs enough power to get the car going when needed. There has been some issues with the car. There's a short in the computer diagnostic system which can cause it to throw an error code. This code will cause the engine to stall out when idling in gear. However, if you quickly shift to neutral the engine will stay on. I haven't bothere... (more)
Story
Drive up a mountain with my girlfriend when we had just began our relationship.
Pros
The car is comfortable. Even for a larger person. It drives well. Holding the car in the road is a breeze. It has some luxury items like TV screens in the seats. The engine is solid. I think the engine will outlast the rest of the car.
Cons
It has common older car problems like a broken AC. Some parts are very expensive versus other brands.
