I really like my Kia Sorento. I enjoy that it feels luxurious and rides very smooth, but it continually surprises me with how rugged it is. I enjoy hiking and mountain biking and it has been able to handle every dirt road and hill I have thrown at it. I have also had a surprisingly small amount of problems with it considering how long I have driven it. I have only had a small problem with A/C and that is about it. Overall I really like the Sorento's power and its AWD capabilities coupled with its luxurious leather interior, I would truly recommend this car to anybody looking for a solid SUV.
Story
I love taking my car from LA to Mammoth Lakes for ski and biking trips. It has held up great even after a couple dozen 600 mile journeys.
Pros
As stated before I really like the ruggedness of this SUV and its AWD ability. I also love the fold down seats and wideness of the back trunk. The area in back is really big and I can haul 2 bikes in the back without needing to use my trailer hitch.
Cons
My main complaint about this vehicle is that it does not get as good mileage as it was advertised to. I average about 17 miles per gallon driving around my town, which is considerably lower than the advertised mpg. Other than this I think it is a great car.

We love our Kia Sorento. We travel quite a lot for work and this SUV is perfect for traveling. The backseats lean back to provide more comfort to extra passengers and there is plenty of room in the back for luggage. The Sorento has compartments under the floor in the back for more storage and the backseats lean back for even more room. We have moved a lot of stuff from our apartment just using this SUV. My wife and I have had no trouble with the electrical components including the radio. We love the access to Sirius radio. If you like camping this SUV is perfect for you. We are able to fit all our camping equipment under the floorboard in the back.
Story
My wife and I go to the beach all the time. We drove down to South Padre Island and went camping at the local campground. There was sand everywhere by the time we left. Thankfully the vehicle is easy to clean. It rained a lot while we were down there but we still had a great time with our new SUV. We spent a lot of time driving around the island shopping.

I really like the support and warranty that comes with the Kia. The vehicle itself might be considered a little unimpressive, but the ratings for safety and drivability are very very good. The vehicle just works whenever I start it up. It's a "Keep It Simple, Stupid" vehicle. With a family, it also avoids the "stigma" of a minivan. It's just as attractive going to church or grocery shopping as it is going out for a night on the town with my wife. It's sporty and spacious at the same time. It's quiet and well put together inside and comfortable enough for long drives. When this one is ready to be replaced, which I don't see happening in the foreseeable future, I'll definitely take my business to Kia again.
Story
The most fun story I can think of in the recent past is that it was small and compact enough to be able to back up to a recent barbecue we had with some neighbors, open up the hatch, and listen to the radio.
Pros
Fantastic reputation and warranty- KIA is excellent. They warranty the vehicle with a five year/60,000 mile limited warranty and a 10 year/ 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty. Affordability- the average price for a standard Kia model is somewhere between $20,000 and $25,000. There are more advanced and expensive/luxury models, with all wheel drive and so forth.
Cons
Not as much space as you want sometimes- it's in the mid size range, but it can be cramped inside during long drives compared to a mini van or other comparative vehicles in this size range. Seating is fine, but the cargo space inside comes up short. It would also be good to have a way to adjust the airflow to the back seats. Maybe there are in the luxury models, but in the basic or standard models, the air is controlled from the front seats. If the driver turns the heat or air conditioning off in front, there's no air going to the back at all. At the same time, it take a while for heated o... (more)
