This is my second Kia Sorento. Between the two Sorentos, I had a Sportage. I only kept the Sportage for a year because I missed the larger size of the Sorento. The name of my Sorento is "Bruiser." I gave him that name because he is a purple/burgundy color like a bruise. This is my first car with a back-up camera and alert, and I don't know how we lived without this! I wish it had a nav, but at the same time, I have a portable nav so that works fine. I am very tall, and I find that the Sorento has plenty of leg and head room for me both in the front seats and the back seats. The cargo room in the back is larger than most other SUVs including my dad's Lexus 350. My Sorento is a four cylinder and surprisingly can be quite peppy despite that fact. The interior of this car is very n... (more)
Story
I love bringing home the Christmas tree in 85 degree weather with the tree sticking out of the back of my Sorento.
Pros
The main pro on this vehicle has to be the price. This being my fourth Kia, I have seen this brand evolve from basically a disposable car to a car with value and class.
Cons
I can only think of two negative things about this vehicle. I bought the cheaper version with cloth seats and the small engine... It is a large jump in price to get these features. The other thing is I am not convinced that this car is one that you can count on for a couple hundred thousand miles. I'll see when I get there, but I feel like around 100,000 miles, it will be time to trade him in.

The Kia Sorento is a no nonsense, efficient, and roomy SUV that has fulfilled all of our familyÕs needs both for local commuting and long range family trips. The Sorento is comfortable, roomy, easy to drive, and has proven to be very reliable and low maintenance. We love that the five of us can travel with enough room to stretch out, and we have plenty of room for luggage in the trunk. The sound system delivers an immersive audio experience and the Sorento handles like a much smaller car. There have been a few minor hardware niggles that required servicing but overall the important components have hung tough and weÕve enjoyed every long trip weÕve ever had to make in it. The Sorento has truly earned its stripes as our primary family traveler.
Story
We replaced our Toyota Matrix with the Sorento. On her first ride, our eight-year-old daughter marveled at the interior. She got in her car seat, did some wriggling and proclaimed ÒIÕve been liberated!Ó
Pros
ItÕs easy to drive, and the mileage isnÕt too bad for a mid-sized SUV. We love how roomy it is, even when weÕre seating seven. We love the XM radio and the A/C has always been ice cold. Our three kids have never complained about the comfort of the seating as well. The center console is roomy and spacious enough for plenty of chargers and snacks. Also, weÕve never had a major maintenance issue with our Kia. Regular oil changes have been the main extent of our expenses.
Cons
There have been a few minor hardware issues. The wheel mounted volume control lost its ability to raise the volume. WeÕve also had the gas cap cable snap, the rear passenger door handle broke off, and the hydraulics holding up the trunk door failed after four years. All of these were low cost fixes and easily managed.
