I like the 100,000 mile warranty. That was the main criteria for making the purchase. It is a basic model without a lot of bells and whistles. I would have likedmore options, but the inventory was limited and our old car was dying, so we had to take what was available and make a quick decision. It is a white color, which is fine. It has a gray cloth interior which is also just fine for us. It has performed well but there was no service available initially where we live. They had to fly someone in when we had an acceleration problem where the car would not pick up speed and eventually died. The car was fixed at no charge to us, but we had to pay to have it towed to two different locations before we got the one with a Kia relationship who could fix it. There is now a Kia dealer nearby al... (more)
Story
When the car stalled at night half on the highway, half on the road, a police officer stopped to stay with my while my husband got a neighbor to help get us off the road. We discovered the officer was the brother of a good friend.
Pros
Even with no local Kia dealership initially, they flew someone in to make a needed repair when the car was experiencing a stalling problem. There was no one locally who could make the repair, and we were very pleased that a qualified technician was flown in. I really like the size of the car. It is easy to drive with good visibility. It has ample room in the back, but I can still maneuver it with ease. It is comfortable with just enough console space. I also like that it is easy for me to lower the back seats to expand the back area, and it is equally easy to return the seats for passenger... (more)
Cons
We were told when making the purchase that there would be service available. This was only partially true. Ultimately we were able to have the car serviced, but we had to have the car towed twice to get to the right place when it had a stalling problem. It stalled once half on the highway and half on our small road which was very scary. We purchased it as a 2009 just as the 2011s were coming out. There were no 2010s, so the car was instantly 2 years old. We had to make a fast decision to get a new car or I would have waited. There was limited inventory available in our area, so we had to t... This car is extremely solid and we have had very few issues with it. It is at 80,000 miles right now and shows no signs of wear and tear as far the vehicles integrity goes. We have had a few issues with the tires deflating but that might be the weather where we live. It has a really great sound system and does not sound tinny or grating, no matter loud or quiet you play the music. One thing that would be nice would be a more modern dashboard. I have had occasional problems with the key not turning in the ignition. This problem has been solved most frequently by changing the position of the steering wheel and also clicking the lights on and off. It is a very practical car for how much traveling we do. We live in Chicago and make numerous trips home to Michigan for work and to visit fami... (more)
Story
We had a group of friends over and were able to fit everyone and their things inside to go to the lake we live near. We kept the back hatch open, parked it on the beach and partied all day out of the back of our car.
Pros
This car is very spacious and has great mileage.
Cons
It is a really ugly blue color. It reminds me of something an old man would drive.
