I bought my KIA as my last car had just spontaneously died. The KIA dealership was the only one that was nice, courteous and willing to work with me. I have been very happy with the vehicle. I know have over 130,000 miles on it and have had no major issues with it. It doesn't shake or rattle. It is a relatively quite vehicle. It is roomy enough to fit my kids and all their soccer gear. We are a family of 6 and have had plenty of room for luggage when driving on vacation. The only consistent problem are the van door locks. When it gets cold out, the two sliding doors are hard to open. The manufacturer installed radio had quit working after about 5 years. I expected that to last the life of the vehicle.
Story
We were driving on a scenic stretch of road and come upon a baby bear. My daughter and I stopped to watch the bear. He started approaching us, and my little girl couldn't figure out which button to push to close the window. The bear ended up running across the road.
Pros
I really like the cruise control. Use it a lot. It is a comfortable ride. There is plenty of room, especially with the well in the back. This van also handles the road very well. I also like the fact that it came with a luggage rack.
Cons
The locks never worked properly on the two rear doors. When it gets cold out, they do not open. You have to wait until it van warms up a little. The radio also died after about 5 years. I have never had a radio die on me before. Some of the plastic handles did not hold up well as well as some of the arm rests.

2009 Kia Sedona - Has been a very reliable mini-van

We purchased this van because of the top 3 mini-vans rated for safety, this one was the most affordable without giving up safety. It has been a very reliable van. We have not had to do any repairs on the van, save the typical upkeep for automotive care. It has more than enough acceleration to drive on freeways as well as good enough handling to take on windy back roads. We have even taken the van off-road a little bit, and never had any trouble. The gas mileage was another factor, we wanted something that got decent mileage, and it has given us that. While not as good as a smaller car, it keeps our gas expenses low.
Story
My kids love to have the adjustable seats and space in the van when we visit the drive through safari park and they don't have to stay in their seats. Allowing them to crawl around to see the different animals.
Pros
It was much more affordable than the comparable mini-vans. The acceleration and handling has been superb for a mini-van, handling everything from back roads and gravel roads to Los Angeles freeways. There is enough space that we have moved desks, tables, shelving units and even a sectional couch in it. The safety features are comparable with vans almost twice as expensive. The driver seats are comfortable on long drives, other vehicles I've owned have left me very sore after long trips.
Cons
The back seats are not really made for full grown adults. The height from the floor to the seat is about 12 inches... Leaving next to no leg room. The captain chairs have proven to be difficult to get in and out and the cables that pull the clamps have stretched to the point of uselessness. The plastic used around the interior of the van has proven semi-weak... Having broke or cracked in two spots when weight from cargo shifted.

My light blue 2010 Kia Sedona was bought used in 2010 to have a save vehicle to tote around our 2.5 Year old son and our new baby boy. It had an excellent safety record, a great price, and according to our research, a history for reliability since the company had been taken over by Hyundai. I like the color, the space, the reliability, and the security I feel driving it. I drive it to work every day which is a 30 mile trek one way.
Story
A fun story I have is piling all my boys' baseball and T-ball gear and the lawn chairs in the back ready to go with a cooler too. We were always ready to go for the big games!
Pros
Some top positive things about my Sedona are the quality stereo system and air conditioning. It is over 100 degrees in Kansas now and I am still cool as a cucumber. The air conditioning/heat unit has separate control for both front and rear of the vehicle. The stereo system is crisp and clear. The van is very reliable. It has 120,000 miles on it and has had no work done other than normal maintenance. It also has a 5 star safety rating.
Cons
The only negative thing I can name about my Sedona is the quality of the seat cushions. After using the infant, toddler, and booster seats in the van over the last 5 years, the back passenger seats are completely warped and misshapen and do not appear suitable for use without a cover. Also, it is difficult to remove the spare tire and jack to change the tire if needed, especially for a woman.
