I purchased the vehicle used from a private owner with cash. It was in decent shape, but the roof liner was destroyed. After replacing that, I went on to have an overall positive experience with the van. While there were a few brief problems with it over time (rattling in the engine), they were quickly fixed when taken to a car mechanic. The van is very roomy, with plenty of legroom for most average-sized people (particularly in the back), and ample storage space in the rear. I did not like that the drivers seat in particular has very little leg room for tall people (the passenger side in the front did not have this issue), and even pushing the seat all the way back made no difference. As this is a very old vehicle, I'm quite impressed with how well it's held up over time. The left win... (more)
Story
Taking it to pick up my girlfriend for the first time (After meeting only online) From the airport was a very good, memorable experience.
Pros
Some of my favorite things about the vehicle are the large storage spaces available for both passengers and cargo (There are 3 rows of seats, with the third row able to be pushed down for more storage space), and the leg and headroom available to passengers. The car also gets fairly good miles to the gallon, despite the fact that it's a van. I usually don't need to refill the tank more than once a week (I drive every day), and a half a tank can go pretty far.
Cons
There are definitely a couple negatives about the vehicle, but a lot of them are simply due to it being old and breaking down over time. However, to discuss a couple things that are just negatives even if it had no performance or engine issues whatsoever, I can name a couple. First, the legroom for the driver is far too cramped and tight. Tall drivers will have an incredibly uncomfortable drive, as I have. Second, the car handles like a tank. It does not make turns well, and it is very big and bulky. This makes it very hard to maneuver in tight parking garages or to get in and out of parki... (more)

We bought our 2004 Kia Sedona used. We financed it through a "pay here" lot. One draw back about buying it there is that we are paying way more than what it is actually worth! But with our credit/financial situation it was the best decision. It has 180,000 miles on it but still runs great. We drive it a lot getting the kids back and forth to church, school, Doctor appointments, etc.. Physically it looks worn down but the engine works great. Overall I am happy with the Kia Sedona and would purchase another one, but would look for a newer model.
Story
It was really nice packing the kids all in the van and driving to Stone mountain park to enjoy and evening with my family. That is 7 people, a cooler, bags and a stroller all fit perfectly for our adventure!
Pros
It runs like a machine! In the two years that we have owned it we have not had to replace anything major. It is easy to drive. There is plenty of room for 7 people and room to fit a stroller. The heat works great! Gas mileage is decent!
Cons
My biggest complaint is that the A/C broke within a week of us buying the van. After researching the model I found that this is a common problem with Sedona vans. Several people actually told the same story about having the a/c fixed and it breaking again repeatedly. Also the windows in the middle of the van do not even open to vent. So with no a/c mid summer my toddler is a sweaty mess in his car seat and there is nothing I can do about it!
