2005 Kia Sedona - It's a good family van

This vehicle is overall a good vehicle for family's. It fits up to seven people. This van is 13 years old, but the interior is still nearly flawless: no rips or tears in the seating. All seat belts work as well as all power controls. I really like that this van has tons of compartments for storing things as well as tons of cup holders. Mechanically, it was been great as well other than regular maintenance. I have only had to fix two things; one being a belt and the other I spent money to fix the front heater. One thing I have not fixed or found the problem with is my A/C chooses when to work sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. The exterior is okay everything looks good except the hood is faded and the bottom trim is faded as well. The one thing that does not hold up over time is t... (more)
Story
Around here, you can drive and park on the beach. It makes going to the beach with kids, one being a baby, so much easier. However, we got stuck in the sand one time. We had to flag someone to pull us out, and we ended up making friends with the family. We still see each other to this day.
Pros
Lots of compartments for storing papers and what not. Lots of cup holders. Interior holds up. Mechanically sound.
Cons
Paint fades. Sliding doors become hard to open. Hard to remove or lay down back seats. Small trunk. Front heater went out, and the A/C chooses when to work.

We got this vehicle to hold our large family and it is a great fit. I love all the space behind the back seats to fit our groceries in. Having access to both sides of the vehicle with sliding doors is great. I love how the seats both fold down and lie back. There are so many different compartments in the front for sunglasses, the GPS, etc. There are two glove compartments on the dash and a lockable safe underneath the front passenger seat. Another reason we bought this vehicle is because our larger 15 passenger van was a gas guzzler. The Sedona has a much smaller tank but does get better gas mileage. When I first drove it, I was impressed how smoothly it rode, even on the highway. Our vehicle is 10 years old, so there are some issues that need to be fixed. The doors locks need to be re... (more)
Story
I drove my kids for a bible study during the last school year. I sat in my Kia and would watch the sunrise while waiting on them to be done. It was very peaceful. I will remember those mornings for a long time to come.
Pros
Lots of room, lots of compartment space up front. Lots of space behind the back seat for groceries. Seats fold down and lie back. Sliding doors on both sides. Smooth ride, even at highway speeds. Decent gas mileage.
Cons
Not the best in gas mileage, but minivans aren't know for their great mpg. Sits pretty low to the ground, you have to watch uneven ground. The rear air has stopped working. The side doors catch and need to be fixed. The automatic locks buzz when you push them. The engine makes a buzzing sound. It doesn't take off very quickly, but I'm used to a V-8 engine, so it may just be a relative problem.
