2015 Kia Sedona - Minivan that feels like an SUV.

My favorite thing about the Sedona is how the interior feels and rides. You feel like you're driving an SUV, instead of a minivan, and that comfort is awesome. Most of the other minivans on the market have the driver in a sort of captain's chair, and that wasn't very comfortable. There is also a sportier trim in the new Sedonas. The red thread and black leather have a nice look. The van has plenty of space, including a lot of cup holders, sub ports, aux ports, and other amenities. I especially like that there is a fast USB charger port up front. I often go on long road trips, and that helps me charge my phone if it's run out of battery. It's very easy to open the trunk, with a no touch opener, and once it's open, it is very easy to fold the back seats up and down. I have two car seats ... (more)

I drive this to preschool drop off, and every other parent has a silver Toyota minivan. They like mine, and I stand out from the crowd.
Pros
I love the look of this Sedona. The interior trim is sporty, and the front row seats and armrest are incredibly ergonomical. It feels like driving an SUV rather than a minivan. The look from the outside is also more similar to SUVs. The large front grill and sleek lines cut a nice figure when driving down the road. This minivan has a lot of amenities for a family. The seating configurations are easy to change, and people can still get into and out of the van comfortably with car seats installed. There are enough cup holders for everyone who would need one, and USB ports all around the car.... (more)
Cons
The main problems we've had with the minivan have occurred with the doors. Sometimes the car doesn't recognize that a door is closed, and I have to reopen and close. A few months ago, we also had an issue with the doors malfunctioning. They would open and close on their own (sometimes while driving) and then I also had trouble getting them to open. Luckily, that problem was resolved by the dealership. Sometimes the car pulls a bit to one side, but I don't know if that's an issue with the car or not. Sometimes the AUX plug has trouble recognizing what is plugged in. It can be a bit fiddly, ... (more)

I love the look of the Kia Sedona. It has a sportier look than all of the other minivans in its class. I enjoy driving it; it feels and handles much more like an SUV than a minivan. It doesn't have that "bus" feel to it. Every row is very spacious and comfortable for all passengers. The interior looks nice and is functional, but it's not overly fancy. All of the controls for the heat, A/C, radio and phone are easy to find and use while driving. I like that there is a lot of cargo space behind the third row. The thing I don't like about the vehicle is that the third row seats cannot lie flat. We like to tailgate after the beach and we can't put the seats down flat for the kids to sit. Visibility is slightly compromised due to the rear side windows being smaller than in regular vans. The... (more)
Story
My son has autism. He loves to drive around listening to the radio and "dancing" in his seat. We do this often. Most of the time we have no destination. He just loves being a passenger in the Kia Sedona listening to music.
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle is the price compared to the Toyota, Honda and Chrysler vans. The Kia Sedona is a much better value, getting you more for the money. Another great thing is vehicle's look; it looks more like a hybrid SUV/Minivan than a regular minivan, which is appealing to families that are turned off by that "standard" look.
Cons
The rear seats don't fold down flat. That's a real inconvenience when using the van to go to the beach, sporting events, and outdoor concerts. The other big negative is the light gray interior in the black Sedona. The seats look gross all of the time and they are very hard to clean.
