My overall experience with this car have been positive. I like that it is easy to drive and has good gas mileage. The car has a very standard build and looks like many other sedans. I dislike that there was no option to upgrade certain features of the car like leather interior or heated seats. The car has had to go into the shop a few times to fix the break pads. The car has many miles on it and still performs as well as it did when first purchased.
Story
I enjoy riding in the car with loud music and the windows down at night when there is little traffic.
Pros
The car handles very well at many different miles per hour. It is compact which allows for easy maneuvering and parking while in the city. I like the gas mileage and even after many miles the car rarely needs maintenance.
Cons
After many years the car has started to show signs of wear and tear. The electrical panel on the driver's side has many problems with the automatic windows and gas gauge.

I was skeptical about buying a Kia prior to test driving one. I felt that they were cheap cars that do not perform up to standards. However, when I first saw the style of the Kia Optima sxL, I had to give it a shot. The car looks like a luxury car, and comes equipped with just about every option one could imagine. It is extremely comfortable, rides well, and the electronics systems make driving pleasurable. What really caught my eye was the panoramic sunroof, which offers natural lighting throughout the car. The turbocharged engine offers more than adequate power, yet the car manages to get decent fuel mileage. The car lacks a bit in handling and the steering isn't as tight as you might expect. However, its still a pleasurable driving experience. The biggest downfall of this car is th... (more)
Story
I was amazed the first time I 'opened up' the engine on this car. I had previously driven smaller sports cars, so I am used to decent acceleration. I did not expect the Optima sxL to produce the same fun driving as my previous coupes. However, after purchasing the car, I decided to try out the acceleration. When pushing the gas quickly, I was pushed back in my seat as the turbo engaged. I was ... (more)
Pros
The price is reasonable for a car that has this many features. The interior is elegant and luxurious. The leather seats are soft and offer plenty of support. The standard equipment offers just about every function available. This car is truly loaded, right down to the cooled glove box. The stereo is very high end and sounds amazing. This stereo is integrated into a touch screen that also is used for navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Heated and cooled seats, along with dual climate control, keep you comfortable in all conditions. The exterior is sleek and offers visual appeal. Th... (more)
Cons
The handling on the Kia Optima leaves something to be desired. Though it is a sedan, it is still a 'performance' model, so you would expect more sport-like handling. The car does not turn sharply and the steering wheel produces a loose-feeling turn. I've also noticed that the white color I purchased is nearly impossible to keep clean and shiny. The pain has a sparkly undertone, so any dirt is extremely visible. Also, the front bumper has very limited ground clearance, so there is always the chance that slight bumps will bottom out the car, leaving scrapes on the bumper. Additionally, the O... (more)

This is a standard, basic car without a lot of bells and whistles; but it really gets the job done. I have put on a lot of miles and, even though the car is older, I haven't had any problems with it. Maintenance is easy and inexpensive. I get good mileage with it, but the gas tank on this car is small! It's a quiet car, which I actually don't quite like, because sometimes when stopped at a light I'm not sure it's still running. The car handles highways well; and it's fantastic on dirt roads (I draw the line at mudding, though). The body has held up really well, especially considering what I put the car through. The interior of the car is not really family-friendly! I am female, and I think the car fits me quite nicely, but a guy might not be as comfortable since the seats are not reall... (more)
Story
It's not really a story, but we have run out of gas multiple times (mostly due to my negligence; I hate small gas tanks!) I think about 10 percent of the time, I am filling the tank from a gas can!
Pros
My Kia is low maintenance. The car handles well, and I truly have not had any large problems with it. It handled a head-on crash quite well, with only minor damage (the explosion of the front bumper was something to behold; and practically no damage to the other vehicle.) I love the sunroof!
Cons
The car is truly not for everyone. It's really a simple car; if you want something flashy, this isn't it. Although a family could make it work, with only two doors it would get tiresome. And quite honestly, I hate the radio. It picks up stations well; it just doesn't PLAY them well.
