I like this vehicle because it is reliable and drives smoothly without being too flashy. Although it is older, the past few months that I have owned it, it has proven to be safe, reliable, and easy to handle.
Story
I drove backwards through my neighborhood while blasting music.
Pros
Leather seats CD changer Power windows Power sun/moon roof Decent sound system Plenty of leg room Lots of trunk space Can comfortably fit five adults
Cons
It takes a long time for the air conditioning to become effective after the vehicle has been sitting out in the sun Back windows do not roll down all the way Not a "glamorous" car for a young adult to be driving

I have had this car for 3 years now and love it. The inside is the highest quality that I have had. Even though its 11 years old it still feels like a brand new car every time I get in and drive it. Its very smooth to drive and it has padding every ware so that you don't have much road noise or any rattle from inside at all. The only thing that I have had to do with this car is change the oil every 5000 miles. I have not had one issue with this car. This car has every option that you could want. It has heated and cooled seats. Climate control. Back heated seats. Power everything including the seat belt height adjustments. The side mirrors will angle down when you back up to make it easy to see. The only bad thing that I have to say about this car is that it does not have very good look... (more)
Story
My friends and I went to a concert in MN where I live, and we all piled in my car. We hit Red Lobster before hand and we all had plenty or room left. It was cold outside so the guys in the back had the heated seats on and were not left in the cold.
Pros
Power everything heated and cooled seats parking sensor brake wear interior indicator very very quite to ride in a very smooth ride
Cons
Ugly looks only takes premium gasoline

I was looking for a used four-door sedan that would fit my family comfortably, but was also powerful comfortable, affordable, and reliable. This 1999 LS400 fit the bill perfectly! I had also considered BMWs, 95-97 Jaguar XJ6s, and the 94-96 LT1 Caprice/Impala SS. The 98-2000 LS400 beat all these cars in just about every category that was important to me. I purchased the car for $3,000 with 160k from the second owner. It was an absolute steal!
Story
I raced Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (supercharged) coming out of the toll booth. Pulled about three car lengths by 105 mph, then I let off and he blew by me.
Pros
The car is rated at 290hp. It has some serious get up and go! Zero to sixty in about 6.5 seconds, and one quarter mile in around 14.8 sec. Car is incredibly comfortable with tons of options like automatic dual-zone climate control, huge power sun roof, heated front seats and five-speed automatic transmission with traction control. The car will do awesome burnouts if you manually drop it into first gear and stomp the gas!
Cons
My biggest gripe is that Lexus never offered a limited slip differential on these cars. So, if you do a burnout, you get the "one wheel peel." My only other gripe is a minor one, and it's that the transmission seems to take off from a stop in second or third gear. I know this is to improve fuel economy and give a smoother ride, but it sucks if your trying to spin the tires from a take off without absolutely stabbing the gas. One more thing, the car requires premium gas and I only average around 21-22 mpg mixed city/highway driving. But it's still well worth the cost.
