Used Lexus RX 300 for Sale

I've had the Lexus RX-300 for 6 years, after inheriting it from my parents. I believe it's the first generation of Lexus SUVs. While pricey at the time, it's been a great car with few issues, even after 150,000 plus miles. I've driven it across the country (New Hampshire to Houston, Dallas to Jacksonville and back, frequent Houston to Dallas trips) many times with no issues. It's never broken down, never caused problems that I didn't cause myself, i.e., dead battery due to the door being left open. I've been really pleased with its reliability and look forward to a few more years of life out of it yet.

Our 2001 Lexus RX-300 has 260,000 miles and going strong. It is a very reliable car. The seats show some wear, but that is to be expected. The dashboard still looks pristine. The car still rides beautifully. Recently, we test drove new low-end vehicles and not one of them performed the way our 15 year old car performed. The engine still functions wonderfully. The exterior has held up well although now we are seeing some rust near the wheel well. The down-side to the vehicle are costly charges for repairs.

This car is simply great. It is extremely attractive and sleek. It rides very smoothly and is comfortable to travel in. Like all Lexus's, it is very low maintenance and reliable. One problem to note about this particular model is its tenancy for oil to sludge in the engine. However routine oil changes and keeping a close eye on the oil level solves this problem in most cases. The gas mileage is only OK on this car. I can get up to high 20’s mph’s on the interstate, but city driving is considerable worse. The cargo area has lots of space for storage, and the hidden compartments underneath the back floor mat provide great storage area. The premium sound system option on this model is well worth the extra cost: when the radio is on, it sounds like surround system in a movie theater! The six disc CD changer is nice, and the cassette player is a nice old-school touch for an old-timer like me. The moon roof is also pleasant on a cool afternoon or evening. Great cost of ownership and affordable luxury for a buyer looking for an SUV on the smaller side.
