THIS WAS A VERY GOOD SUV THAT I PURCHASED, IT HAD ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES THAT I WANTED FOR THAT YEAR AT WHICH I PURCHASED IT. IT IS VERY GOOD DRIVING IN THE SNOW WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON, ITS A GREAT LOOKING SUV, HAS ENOUGH HORSEPOWER FOR A V6. IT HAS GOOD GAS MILEAGE IN THE CITY AND THE HIGHWAY

The Lexus brand is what I call the affordable and efficient choice when looking at luxury car brands and associated models. I think it is really the starting tier for luxury vehicles and I think that the RX 330 embodies that sentiment. I think after having this car for almost three years, that it does have some nice features and qualities, but when looking at the product in the big picture view, is overpriced for what you get.
Story
The speed and handling. I think that one of the great things that Lexus does have going for it is a smooth ride. This car does a decent job with acceleration and braking, and definitely is quiet and smooth. I remember times when I would drive through wooded roads and still often do. It is a great combination with the quiet natural scenery and a comfortable, smooth, and powerful vehicle.
Pros
Well you definitely pay extra for the luxurious Lexus brand, but the ride is definitely smooth. Handling is very nice for an SUV. I consider the Lexus RX 330 to be the model between the larger SUVs. The larger SUV that I refer to are the models roughly the size of a Ford Explorer and above. The Lexus RX 330 is closer to the Ford Escape or Honda CRV in regards to size. Definitely bigger than a classic sedan, but not to large to be cumbersome. As a driver who used to have a Ford Explorer and switched over to the Lexus RX 330, the difference is night in day in regards to handling. Accelerat... (more)
Cons
It is definitely overpriced for what you get. I felt that the car's price was competitive with Mercedes Benz and BMW, and I find those cars to be better overall when looking for car with luxurious qualities. As also previously stated, I was coming from a Ford Explorer, and after having this car, I actually see myself eventually moving to a Ford Escape Hybrid. Which brings up the next con. The car is expensive to fix when it breaks down. However, Japanese cars are some of the best and efficient on the market so fixes are rare, when compared to my Ford Explorer which seemed to always have is... (more)

I like pretty much everything about our RX-330. We bought it second hand directly from the original owner. He had kept it up to date with all required maintenance done when necessary, such as oil changes and tune-ups. This isn't the first pre-owned Lexus I've bought. I had already owned a 1992 ES-300, and just like that, these vehicles are built to last. Just so long as you do regular oil changes and take care of it. Some vehicles, even if you do that, they don't last this long. I bought this for $2,300 with 134,000 miles on it, and I've already added another 15,000 and haven't seen any major issues other then needing tires and brakes.
Story
Going on road trips with my family. I've also had some odd looks as I pull up to lakes and start pulling my fishing gear out. It's like they don't expect someone who drives a Lexus would want to fish. It's really weird!
Pros
Really smooth drive. Doesn't require major babying. It has electric everything. The original owner did upgrade the radio and speakers so we can use our smart phones and use Bluetooth to use our play lists.
Cons
Other then tires and brakes, the only down side of an older vehicle like this is the drive and passenger seats have taken a beating. Either I need to get covers or find some aftermarket seats that have all the same features (heat seat, electric tilt and lumbar adjustments, etc.).
