I have put nearly 200k miles on this car and it refuses to give in to Father Time. It is built exceptionally by Toyota and is one of the most dependable cars they've ever built. It has an excellent blend of luxury and comfort with handling and sport-tuned technology. It has an infallible transmission and the gearshift is smooth. The ride is great at cruising speeds and it can get to freeway speed very quickly. The interior is very luxurious and has real leather all around, which is hard to find in today's luxury vehicles.
Story
The Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) saved me from a major accident in the rain when my car fish-tailed on a left turn. It was like I wasn't even driving for a few seconds as the car took control and steered me in the right direction.
Pros
It's V6 engine makes it a great performer at city and freeway speeds. It looks like it borrowed some design cues from the Mercedes E-Class from the same design era, which makes it look great but with none of the mechanical and electrical issues of the Mercedes brand.
Cons
The car at times lags when it is accelerating off the line, so the driver has to account for this and not floor the throttle but instead ease into 2nd and 3rd gear before really pushing it.

The theme of this car is luxury. The seats are some of the most comfortable that I've sat in--good leather material. The seats go back pretty far, and it has a telescoping wheel for maximum comfort. The sound system is premium Nakamichi and has really good bass and treble. The A/C is dual climate control so you and your passenger will be comfortable. The interior is streamlined for the driver's (and passenger's) comfort in terms of bells and whistles. The dashboard lights are bright and easy to read, the controls are easy to reach and operate at just a touch. The car is roomy and has lots of legroom. It gets good mileage, and shifts smoothly. Every detail has been tended to, and this car stands the test of time. This is my second GS300, and I'm now coming up on 230,000 miles. I would d... (more)
Story
I remember the beginning of a night out with my friends and we were trying to decide who was going to ride with whom. Turns out everyone wanted to ride with me because they liked the car.
Pros
Comfort is a top priority in this car--even the back seats have plush headrests. The car has dual temperature control and heated seats, which I have no use for in my state but still love. The trunk is very roomy, plenty room to haul your groceries or purchases. The streamlined body of the car is one of the best features. I personally hate it when a car changes the look of the body so much that people can immediately tell that your car is ancient. Not so in the GS300. You can still tell the differences year to year (headlight shape and sharper angles) but the car's body still looks like the... (more)
Cons
The radio screen is not as backlit as I would like--especially at night. Since I've had the car a long time, I've had to do many repairs (as would be expected), so I'm not counting that against the car's durability. However. You cannot mention a GS300 without talking about the brake master cylinder. I had problems with this part since a month after purchasing this car. After researching forums, I've found that many other people have as well. Enough to the point where it probably should have been recalled. I've replaced this unit five years ago, and it's starting to give me problems again. ... (more)

I love my car, it has so much room and I always get lots of people asking me how much and where they can buy one. I love that I can have all my friends in the car and there is still room for all my stuff. I love all the extras that are in the car I can just go down the road and not worry about the reliability of this car and that it self is such a good thing expressly when I put my nephews in the car I know that we are all in a safe vehicle. I do love this car through and I'm so glad that I bought it. I know that this car will be reliable and will last, so if I did want to pass this car down I no that it will still be a good car for them and maybe they can have years with the car and not have to worry about it. Also, I love the gas miles, I can get from one side of my city to the o... (more)
Story
Me and my family went on a vacation and we saw so many people have to take 2 vehicles and we are saving back extra money to do other things because of the fuel and everything we saved got us more time and fun.
Pros
I love how I can do anything with this car, I can go to a family outing and everyone is loving it and asking me about it wanting to drive, and then when they do they want to know were they can go and buy one, the reliability is everything also I love that I can let my sister drive it and I know that it will get her where she needs safely. It has so much room for the people we have now. I love the sleek look and the features of the car. I can do everything in this car it is never boring and all my friends love the leg room it gives they do not feel cramped like other cars. I also love the... (more)
Cons
The only thing that I do not like is that when I bought the car I got insurance on it and extra stuff and the price is a little more than what I would like to pay but I love this car and I would not give it up at all. I just wish that I would not have payed for all the extras so my payment would be lowered. I do wish it could be a little bit bigger as the family keeps growing and I am slowly running out of room expressly when I have everyone in the car and I go to the store, I have to watch what I get, because I know that I would not have the room for it and them. I sometimes have to go... (more)
