I am a mother of 2 young children and I have been driving the Forester for 5 years. It is a very safe car and I live in a snowy part of New England. The best part is that it sits up a little higher, so I don't have to worry too much about potholes! It also has plenty of room in the backseat for car seats even with extra leg room. The trunk is spacious and can fit 2 strollers. Other than regular wear and tear, I have not had any mechanical issues at all. I am still using the same tires that came with it when I originally leased the vehicle (I bought it out of a lease) and they are in great condition. One issue that I knew going into it, is that the Forester has a bit of a rougher ride, than the Outback, which is a bit smoother on the road.
Story
Just the fact that it can go through a snow bank with no issues!
Pros
The most positive aspects are the space for the price and there are also great cup-holders in the backseat for my kids that they won't fight over! The sound quality of the stereo is great too and it runs very well. As far as I am aware, they hold their value very well and are a good investment.
Cons
The negatives are that the ride can be a little bumpy and that even though the trunk space is good, if we go away as a family of 4, it can be difficult to fit everything in with all of the people and luggage.

I like that my car has required very little maintenance and has survived city living, mountainous vacations, beach driving, and caring weather conditions. The car holds a lot of stuff for its size making it great for my home renovation projects.
Story
I was able to fit the kayaks on top of my car to go out for my sister's birthday.
Pros
This car is great for hauling gear while living in the city. It is dependable for long drives for work and vacations. It is dependable and reliable. The hitch and tow hooks are also very helpful.
Cons
There are not enough cup holders in this car. I also do not have many extra features like a better stereo.
