2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid Owner Ratings & Reviews

2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid - Great car for adults who care about the environment
The car is very comfortably appointed. Storage in all the right places; seats adjustable in many different ways; good lumbar support. It's responsive and is a very easy drive. Its spacious interior makes it great for long trips with kids in the back seat. The technology (audio, Bluetooth, maps/navigation) is easy to use and is intuitive. It's not obnoxiously hybrid, like the Prius, and can often match it in mileage.
Story
We have put pool noodles on the top and used it to transport a canoe to the local canal many times; we worried that when we got rid of the station wagon that we'd have to skip the canoeing! -- no fear; the roof held up great! We've also filled the interior with inner tubes for rafting down a river.
Pros
It's a beautiful car and drives even better than the conventional Camry. I regularly get 500+ miles to a tank of gas. The seats are comfortable, the doors make a satisfying "chunk" sound when they close. I love the sunroof and wish we had one like it in our other car. I also like that it retains the HVAC settings as they were when the car was shut off. The midnight blue paint color is better than conventional black - it is slightly iridescent. I loved the satellite radio so much that I re-upped for 3 more years of service.
Cons
The safety features are a little annoying -- the front passenger can't adjust navigation on the road unless the car is not moving. The rear seats don't come down all the way, except for a small pocket behind the passenger side seat which makes it difficult to carry big lumber items, etc. The seat heaters were not installed correctly, so it broils your rear quite quickly in the winter.
2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid - I love this car so much.
I love my Camry Hybrid. I've put 75,000 miles on the car in 6 years and I have had zero problems with it, outside of the normal upkeep -- oil changes, new tires, etc. The car has a lot of pickup despite being a hybrid. The interiors have held up really well over time, very little wear and tear to the upholstery, despite having a small child riding around in the car everyday. The controls and the display are appealing and slick. My husband sometimes has a hard time with the A/C controls but I believe that is because he doesn't ride in the car as often as I do.
Story
I volunteered to drive my coworkers out for lunch. We (5 adults) all piled into my car and drove across town to a restaurant. My one coworker (who owns several cars) could not stop talking about how much power my car despite being a hybrid. I was so proud.
Pros
The car is incredibly efficient -- I generally fill up my tank once a month unless we take a road trip. The inside of the car is deceptively roomy. There is enough space to fit 4 adults comfortably (and 5 adults if necessary) without any struggle. The trunk is big enough to fit a week's worth of luggage and equipment for vacations!
Cons
My least favorite thing about this car is that the entertainment/media interface is a bit clunky. It takes too many steps to navigate sometimes and sometimes the navigation paths are not exactly intuitive.
