This car is still relatively new - I bought it for myself around this time last year and so far, it's only been on one long road trip. For the price I paid, this car was a great value. Aesthetically, it's exactly what I was looking for, and it has most of the features that I wanted. It's definitely less stylish than my previous car, but as far as station wagon-type models go, it's certainly better than a Subaru! I haven't had any troubles with it, other than regular maintenance of tires and I think I've got about 15,000 miles on it. The stereo is great and loud and the Bluetooth connection is definitely a plus.
Story
My friends and family started calling my car "The Hearse" since it's a black station wagon and I'm often hauling around large wooden items in the trunk. I guess it looks like I'm carrying coffins around!
Pros
The smoothness of the German engine really is a thing of beauty. I've only driven Japanese cars before this and it was quite a transition. The acceleration is quick and smooth and the brakes are just sensitive enough. It isn't as clunky as the typical station wagon and the trunk space is great.
Cons
I had higher expectations for the fuel economy when I was researching this car. Maybe I'm just an inefficient driver when it comes to gas consumption or maybe I drive more on back roads than I do on highways, but I've found that short (about 20-30 minute drives) trips sap a significant amount of gas from my car. I'm not terribly mad about it right now; gas is cheap. But when the price of gas goes up I'm going to look for ways to limit my commute. I also wish that the CD changer could accommodate more than one CD.

I came across this vehicle a couple years ago and could not pass it up. This Volkswagen has the perfect balance of sporty attributes along with very elegant luxury features. Without a doubt, Volkswagen consistently makes quality vehicles. This wagon has enough room for the family, and is extremely comfortable.
Story
One fun, memorable event I had while using this vehicle was when my wife, my children and I took this car all the way to Dallas Texas to visit family. We stayed there for a week, and enjoyed every minute of it. This is a very well made car and is the most reliable, safe automobile I have owned.
Pros
My Volkswagen has an ample amount of features that I really like. The car rides very smooth, and almost feels like you are floating while operating this fine German automobile. The car has top notch leather seats. The leather comes across as a very durable, thick material and is more rich than a Honda or a Chevy. The car also gets excellent gas mileage which is great because it is a sports model. The car is extremely roomy and can fit the whole family. Last but not least, one of the main reasons I purchased this vehicle was because it ranks very high in its safety standards so I feel extre... (more)
Cons
There are not too many cons when it comes to this specific vehicle, or previous Volkswagen vehicles that I have owned. One con is that the price for vehicle maintenance can be a little bit more pricey than American made motor vehicles or your typical Honda. One more issue that I experienced is that I had a front door speaker that blew out, and a seat that electronically quit operating, but besides that nothing major.
