The new Touareg SUV is utility made luxurious. Filled with the finer things in life, it also has the power, versatility, and cargo space for real life. Driver Assistance features can help you prepare for and respond to the unpredictable nature of the road. Which all adds up to giving you a little more confidence on every drive. The Touareg combines V6 performance with elegant style, and then brings it all together inside a refined, well-equipped interior.

The Volkswagen Touareg overall is a comfortable fun to drive vehicle. I still remember the first time I drove it and took a sweeping corner at 30 mph. The handling was so great, there was no push into the corner, no leaning. I was amazed. The car has always been a smooth driver and the seating is very comfortable. This vehicle also tells you everything, low washer fluid, air pressure readings for each tire, how many miles left on your gas tank, fuel usage. I've owned it for more than 4 years and still don't know everything it can do. My only disappointments are the water pump had to be replaced, but it was still under warranty, also, the tires wore more quickly than I would expect, lastly the driver's seat feels like it loses its setting sometimes and has to be adjusted. The gas mileag... (more)
Story
The first time I drove the vehicle to work, I remember taking a corner and was like 'Wow, I didn't even feel that corner!' I was so impressed with the handling and I will always remember that about this vehicle.
Pros
The handling is superb. The spacious and comfortable seating. The adaptive headlights. Dual zone heating and A/C controls. Free scheduled maintenance for first 30,000 miles. Ability to open/close hatch from key fob or driver's side door button. The sound and navigation system is great and very helpful. Navigation system is excellent.
Cons
The water pump had to be replaced a little over 3 years after purchase. The tires wear out fast. The gas mileage is not that great.

Our Touareg is an exceptional vehicle in regards to both performance and safety. Purchased by us as new parents for its optimal safety features (e.g. Multiple point impact air bags and latch hooks). Overall it has performed like a new car since we purchased it with minor issues. As long as it is taken care of, it will take care of you and your family.
Story
This car took a family of four through the Grand Teton Mountains while towing a trailer without any problems. We not only were able to enjoy a beautiful ride through an amazing National Park, but the Touareg (or "The Egg" as we nicknamed it) handled those curvaceous mountain roads with the precision expected from VW.
Pros
Safety: multiple air bags; multiple sensors; three point latch system for car seats; awesome roadside safety kit with spare tire self inflation
Cons
Only takes Premium gas - can be costly when gas prices are out of control;
