Used Volkswagen Passat for Sale

This car has been a nice ride for me these past few years. It handles well and is comfortable to ride in and drive. The legroom in the back seat is so-so, but I've only been driving kids around, so it hasn't been too much of a problem. I like having the large cargo area, since I haul around a lot of stuff (sports equipment, groceries, luggage, etc.) with me. That said, it has been very expensive to maintain. Many parts have gone out on it, including the driver's side seat heater, which would have cost $1,500 to fix! Luckily, I'd purchased an extended warranty to cover this. It requires premium gas as well, further adding to the cost of operating the care. This car has the 1.8L turbo engine, which has had serious problems with sludge and requires synthetic oil to operate (more $$!). I would definitely check into the sludge problems when buying this vehicle, as it could cause the engine to completely fail if the car has not been maintained correctly.

This is a car that drives very well. The steering is comfortable, the seats are comfortable, and the lines of sights are great. The leather interior is easy to clean and looks nice. The trunk fits quite a lot of stuff, although it is somewhat difficult to access from the interior of the car. I would like it better if the middle seat folded down on its own, but you can only fold down one side seat and the middle and other seat together. The fuel economy is superb! For an older car, it gets really great MPG - close to 40 on the highway. The styling is classic and sleek, and the sunroof is an added bonus. One of the unfortunate things about a VW is how expensive they are to fix, which I have found to be true. Replacement parts cost a lot, and taking the car in to the dealer is also very expensive. Overall it is a great car, though, and very nice to drive.

I bought the vehicle for $700 when I was 17. I have since fixed it, crashed it, and fixed it. Its still going and is a reliable car. The v6 runs very smoothly although most maintenance can be pricy if you don't do it yourself. Mechanically it is an Audi, so parts can be expensive as well. Still at the end of the day it has a great stereo, a smooth ride, and an exceptional amount of cargo space.
