The VW Passat is a work horse. The car is dependable and has withstood many miles in a multitude of environments and has performed exceptionally every time. The interior feels luxurious, and the exterior looks sporty and attractive. Overall, this car is a great car for a first-time owner like myself and feels like a luxury car at a modest price. There is ample space within the car for five passengers to sit comfortably, and the technology is of a good quality that makes car rides more enjoyable. The engine is only a four cylinder I believe, so I would like to see more power out of a sedan of this size, but the turbo makes up for this slightly.
Story
In the summer, I frequently will take my car out for cruises on the highway and on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Letting the car work and really getting to drive it makes owning the car a fun experience. Pushing the speed and handling the car on the curving highways while music plays and the hot summer air rushes through the open windows.
Pros
Dependability is a huge positive to this car. It handles well and drives as smooth as butter on the highways, which is the type of driving this car was meant for. Having blind spot monitors and a rear view back-up camera proved to be incredibly useful, and I can't imagine having a car without them now. Apple CarPlay also makes it easier to use GPS, music, and my phone while driving, which is very convenient.
Cons
Fuel efficiency could be improved. The grey color I have attracts dirt easily, so I feel as if I need to clean my car more often than others. Additionally, maintenance is more expensive since, which is a drawback so the car is a bit more expensive to maintain than other brands whenever a maintenance issue comes up.

2017 Volkswagen Passat - Best. Car. Ever.

When I first laid eyes upon the car, the ocean-blue color caught my attention. The detail and trim looked sleek, and it made me feel like a professional with its all black interior. The drive itself was exceptionally smooth. I had no issues with reaching the brakes or changing the height and settings of the front seats.
Story
My family and I took a road trip from Denver, CO, to Killeen, TX, for the July 4th week, and it was amazing! We had lots of room in the car. We got great gas mileage. The media screen worked the entire time with our iPhone Maps apps. The kids were comfortable in the back seats, and we even brought our dog along. We all had room to nap when we stopped at a rest stop and to eat when we stopped f... (more)
Pros
My favorite things about this car include the large trunk space (it's huge!), the media screen (connects to my iPhone and uses apps like Waze and Audiobooks!), and the seat adjustments that allow my short frame (5'1") to reach the pedals better without feeling too close to the steering wheel in case the airbag deploys during an accident.
Cons
I do not like that the car can sometimes be scratched on the bottom when I drive slowly over a large speedbump in my apartment complex parking lot. This has been the only issue thus far.
