2007 Volkswagen Passat - This fierce little car was money well spent!
I bought my Passat used with a little over 100,000 miles on it already. However, when we test drove it, it was no different than getting behind the wheel of a new car.
Several months later, I am still pleased with my purchase. The Passat is the smoothest car I have ever driven. It is also the quietest. Unless you are revving the engine, you can't even tell its running. However, when you pull onto the highway, you can hear the turbo purr to life, taking you from stopped to 65 in less than four seconds. Even with that much engine, on a recent 200 mile round trip we never had to fill up with gas.

A major selling point for me was the trunk size. For everyday use it is more than spacious enough to hold a heaping cartload of groceries and our twin stroller and diaper bags. Recently we used it to move boxes of books and small furnishings to storage. Plenty of room, and the car didn't even notice it was loaded.
I can't say as much for the back seat. It barely fits two car seats. The recessed seat buckles make it difficult to buckle the booster seat, since the buckle is under one of the car seats. This is a minor inconvenience though, given safety ratings of the car in general. A nice touch is that there is plenty of space between the front and back seats, meaning that car seats or an adult can sit in back without being crunched.
Overall, I am in love with this car. I have never owned a VW before this one, and now I know I will never drive anything else. Its the perfect combination of power, safety and aesthetics, all rolled up in a sleek package that barely needs any fuel.
My husband was very much against buying a foreign car. He didn't want to even drive it on the way home. After navigating city traffic, he said it was okay. After it passed another car like a little black bullet, he admitted it was "fierce". By the time we arrived home an hour later, he asked if he could drive it to work. The pros of the VW Passat, so far definitely have to include the seats. They are more comfortable than my living room furniture. They adjust perfectly to fit the height of any driver, so you never have to worry about a blind spot.
Aside from the seats themselves, the interior design is pleasing to the eye and durable. The hidden storage compartments make it easy to keep the car clean and organized, with everything within safe reach of the driver. The controls for the sunroof, lights, etc. Are well marked and convenient. You never have to take your eyes of the road to make an adjustment. ... (more)

As mentioned above, the major cons of this car are the seat buckles. The back seat would be perfect if it were just two inches wider, or if the buckles were on stems for easier access. The front seat has two slightly annoying features, one being the chrome used around the gear shift creates a dangerous glare at times. The other con would be the dashboard lights, which are all red. This can be distracting, since red is typically associated with warnings. Its easy to miss, and I spent a bit of time stranded with a flat tire. Now I watch closer, but I having the digital alerts a different color than the gauges and dials would be an improvement.
2007 Volkswagen Passat - Long lasting car.
This car has been great since we purchased it used 6 years ago. The interior details are excellent, including leather seats, sun roof and fully automated seats and seat warmers. The body is stylish and the inside is roomy enough for our family of 4, including 2 car seats. The wheels and tires are high performance and have held up nicely over the years. It has been dependable through many moves and long road trips. Even now, at well over 170,000 miles it still runs great and has only ever given us minor problems.

This is the car that both my children came home from the hospital in so it will always be special to me for that memory.

I like that it is a powerful car and can pick up speed quickly. This is especially nice for interstate driving. It is great on gas, getting over 20 miles to the gallon. The look of the car is great. I have received numerous compliments on the body style for years. The interior is nice. I especially appreciate the heated front seats which come in handy during cold winter mornings. The leather seats are also a nice touch which are also easy to clean which is great with small children. The main thing I like about the car is how dependable it has been over the years.

The main negative components of this car involve the price of parts, maintenance, tires, repairs, etc. Luckily, there have not been a lot of repairs needed over the years, but as an example we did opt to have the timing belt replaced around the 100,000 mile mark and the total cost was close to $2,000. The low profile tires are also rather expensive, at around $250 per tire. When replacing all four tires at once the cost can really add up.
