2009 Volkswagen Passat - Great Wagon for young family
The best thing about this Passat wagon was it drove like a 4 door car but had the extra room in the back for storage. Heated and leather seats were a great addition to the Komfort line of this wagon and were great to have in winter. The sunroof in this level of Passat was also a nice addition. The backseat was roomy enough for my Wife to sit in the back with our Son in his carseat. Rear vents kept the backseat cool in summer and warm in the winter.
Story
Took a road trip to Virginia in this car and it performed awesome on the long road trip. Wife and Son had enough room in the back to setup a small TV to watch on the way.
Pros
I loved the way this wagon handled. It was a wagon but I think it handled more like a sports car. The exterior styling was very nice and was accented well with the chrome accents. We really enjoyed the extra storage that the wagon allowed for in the back. We sold a sedan to purchase this car and are glad we did for storage of baby items. Things like strollers fit really well in the back,
Cons
The main con of this vehicle and from what I can tell of most VW vehicles was the maintenance. It required synthetic oil at all oil change intervals. It also required high octane gasoline which added to the running costs of this car.
