2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata pint-sized fun
2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata This car was purchased with 1,500 miles on it from a private seller and was in virtually brand new condition. This is the base model that comes with a standard transmission, alloy wheels, convertible top, A/C, AM/FM CD stereo, power windows and 4 cylinder engine. It's a very compact model that allows for a driver and a single passenger.

Great Car on a Budget
This is the second Mazda Miata I have owned. I bought it because I really liked the first one, and just wanted a newer model. This is considered a Gen2 Miata, which some people have criticized. Generally, I can agree with some of the criticisms, mainly lack of power and poor handling compared to previous and later models. However, it was definitely an improvement over my first Gen I Miata. It had power windows, a glass rear window, and a better audio system. Price was a major factor in my decision to buy this car. When I bought it, I was a college student commuting 50 miles round trip every school day. The Miata was economical to drive for that purpose. I got around 26 mpg, and maybe a little better on the freeway. Maintenance for the Miata was fairly easy. The brakes needed to be replaced at 36K miles. That's probably about average. I did replace the tires, mainly because I wanted a different brand. Nothing wrong with the Bridgestones that came with the car, though.
