Functional, but that's it
To start, the car has broken down several times for an issue so trivial that it is solved by literally hitting the starter with a wrench a few times. It eats oil up like crazy, and it's not because there's a leak; I've had it checked out several times. It is the loudest car I have ever owned, and I've owned a 1997 Ford Explorer when it was nearly 20 years old. The A/C broke, the CD player broke, and the heater broke with average usage. I cannot stress enough how ridiculously loud it is. It does not accelerate well at all. I have to step on the pedal nearly to the ground to get up to 60. Maneuvering is decent, I don't think I've had any problems in that regard. All I can say is my 1997 Explorer with >250K miles runs much better than this car, which has about 170K miles. The appearance is ok, it just looks like a normal SUV. Gas mileage seems to be decent enough. Windshield wiper randomly snapped off one day, which has never happened to me before. It's comfortable enough; the interior headlining and seat cushions haven't held up particularly well over time. Trunk space is decent. I will say that its relatively compact size is pretty convenient for an SUV. And I like their color options better than most other vehicle lines.

Dependable and fun vehicle to own
The Mazda Tribute was a wonderful vehicle to own. As a woman, I appreciate the reliability and cost effectiveness of Mazda products. They include more options for the money than other comparable vehicle companies. The interior and exterior are of quality materials and the Mazda service is unsurpassed. This vehicle was low maintenance. The storage compartment allowed me to haul just about anything I wanted and the cargo rails on the top allowed for items to fixed to it safely. Although I bought the base model, it had all of the options I wanted, including electric windows and seats, CD player and radio and customized heating/cooling for both passenger and driver.
