I'll make this review short and simple. Ever since I've bought my envoy, I have noticed a great number of them and basically the same year as mine. Honestly by knowing there are more of them on the road besides mine, that shows me that there are others who feel the same way about the GMC envoy as I do!
Story
One fun story we have was our first outing with it. We took a drive to a local state park, got some fresh air and some food far away from home. The ride was luxurious to say the least.
Pros
One of the features I love about the envoy I drive is dependability. My envoy hasn't ever left me in a predicament where I was left stranded. The second most important thing is the low maintenance. I have gone almost 200,000 miles without replacing any parts. Because I have an infant, safety is key, and living where I do in such a mountainous region, I need all the child safety I can get out of my vehicle.
Cons
There are only 5 things I can think of that I'm not really happy with, but I can live with them. One of them is the fuel economy, it'll pass anything but a gas station. The second is its high center of gravity. You must tread carefully in order to drive it without rolling over. The seat controls for me are hard to reach, because I'm a short woman. Sometimes I feel higher off the ground than I actually am.

The 2003 GMC Envoy XL is a great family vehicle with three rows of seats. The inline six engine is great on gas mileage and requires minimal maintenance. The engine does not burn oil or leak like many of the other vehicles I have owned.
Story
I remember going camping at highland springs in this vehicle. I was surprised to fit a queen sized mattress in the back and was able to watch video's on the rear TV screen.
Pros
Three rows of seats allow for maximum seating and comfort in traveling. When the rear seats are folded down, it allows drywall and full plywood sheets to fit in the rear section. A full queen size bed fits in the rear compartment and makes moving to a different house or apartment very easy. Paint quality on the vehicle is also above quality and maintains its shine with little maintenance.
Cons
The interior finish and carpeting leaves much to be desired in this vehicle. The carpets and headliner are easily stained. The arm rest is very brittle and has broken. The plastic above the rear window and hatch has started to peel after 10 years. The air conditioning in the rear portion of the vehicle does not work any further.
