The GMC Envoy XL with the Denali package is a comfortable SUV with lots of power from the 5.3 V8 engine. With the long wheelbase and air adjustable rear suspension, it actually rides really smooth around town and out on the highway. The overall quality is lacking just a bit for such a high trim-level vehicle. Small engine noises, creaking interior plastics, and a persistent rear HVAC problem are most notable.
Story
Great tow vehicle with the whole family being able to fit as well. We took a short road trip to collect a classic car with the whole family. With six total people, we were able to bring along an aftermarket portable DVD player to keep the kiddos happy. With so much available on tap, we towed about 5,500 lbs. with now issues at all and actually averaged pretty decent mileage too.
Pros
The powerful engine and transmission combination with pretty decent fuel economy are tops. For being on the larger side of the mid-size class, it rides well and is really quiet out on the highway. Also, the Denali trim gives the SUV a great look.
Cons
Most disliked about the Envoy XL Denali is the ergonomics of the front row. From the switches being in the wrong places, to cramped center console, to really small cup holders, it feels as though the layout of the first row was the last thing to be designed after the whole vehicle was completed. Interior plastics really could be better too as there is way too much noise and creaking.

I've been driving this car for nearly 10 years and I have had very few repairs come up. The car is roomy and has a luxurious feel to it, with the all leather seats and the wood trim on the dash. After 135,000 miles, the car still drives like it is brand new. The best thing about having enough seating for 7 is that I always have room for my flea market finds. Both the second row and the third row seats fold all the way down. The only thing I don't like about it is the mpg rating is not great. And replacing the tires is expensive because they are so large.
Story
This model car is used as a security vehicle at my nearby mall. My car is even the same color, white, that the security officers use. Sometimes people think I am security .
Pros
I like how roomy the vehicle is. I also like that it has leather seats, very few mechanical repairs & lots of space for when you are shopping.
Cons
Gas mileage is poor & replacement tires are pricey.
