I have a black Hyundai Veloster Turbo 2013. I like the interior, it makes it feel like you're inside of a sports car. It gets pretty good mpg, around 28 mpg. From the side it looks really cool. The engine sounds like it's a fast car. It's very small and compact. There's push start in the car, so you can just have your keys in your pocket. There are things I dislike about the car. It's kind of slow and the handling is kind of harsh. The shape of it looks like an egg, which some people have told me. There's no auto light sensor, and the radio system they have stock is sort of bad. It requires premium gas, which is really expensive for a car that supposedly has good mpg. There's not much leg room, and the seats aren't automatic. You have to use a lever to make it. In long road trips, the ... (more)
Story
I got a flat tire and was about 200 miles away from my house. I went to try to change the tire and turns out they didn't have spare tires included for Hyundai cars. So I got Glico to tow my car to the nearest tire shop, which was Walmart. The Auto Center for Walmart was closed since it was Sunday after 6. So I got a hotel that was located about half a mile away from the Walmart. The next morni... (more)
Pros
Interior looks like a sports car, 28 mpg, it's a turbo, so the engine revs strong and loud, it comes with rims, 3 door car, even though it's small and compact, it's push start, so doesn't require you to put in the key.
Cons
Back doors and windows are uneven on each side. Trunk doesn't pop up automatically, and you need to manually open it after you unlock the trunk. You have to fill it up with premium gas. Not much leg room. No automatic light sensor to turn on your lights at night. There are only 4 seats.

I didn't expect to love the Veloster as much as I do. I was shopping for a small, practical, and reliable hatchback, and I expected to take a hit when it came to performance and how much I enjoyed the driving experience, but I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on any of the other cars I took for test drives. The Veloster has just enough space to haul my gear (I DJ, host, and photograph events, so I'm often lugging around sound and lighting equipment). The turbo combined with a six speed manual transmission make for a fun and engaging driving experience. The third door is a fantastic improvement over the regular coupe experience, and everyone who's ridden in my back seat remarks that it's roomier than they expected. I've had the car for over two years and haven't had any is... (more)
Story
When I was visiting the North Carolina mountains for a friend's wedding, I met a group of Veloster enthusiasts who were joyriding on the Blue Ridge Parkway and joined up with them for a little while. It was fun to stretch the legs on my car and drive with other people.
Pros
Performance, driving experience, looks, available space, the third passenger door, Bluetooth, relatively comfortable seats, reliable.
Cons
No rear-view camera, probably a little cramped for tall people, not great for families, tight suspension is fun but stressful on rough/bumpy roads.

The 2016 Hyundai Veloster turbo is a bag of joy just waiting to be ripped open. With its peppy 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine it has a reasonable 0-60 and horsepower rating. The interior quality is nice for the price and the seats are comfortable. However you may find your passengers in then rear do not have adequate leg room if the front passengers are rather tall. The exterior styling is very nice as well and the front of the vehicle sports a mean and sporty look. With the 6 speed annual transmission the car can be quite fun. However again there is a letdown as the rear suspension is somewhat archaic in design. This shows in corner stability. Overall the car is great fun and of great quality for the price.
Story
We have a small group of people who go driving on the weekends when the weather is nice. My old Honda Civic hatchback was the loudest and oldest in the group. When I got my Veloster everyone was really impressed with looks and power from the factory. We love to go driving through the mountains. I fit in better now with the group and I have a much more enjoyable time, and I can keep up with the... (more)
Pros
Comfortable seats. Good power for price. Fantastic design inside and out. Great standard features. 6 speed.
Cons
Rear suspension. Rear seat leg room. Cup holder placement.
