While the styling isn't anything to write home about its a good little car with good gas mileage. Right now I'm getting about 32-34 mpg out of this almost ten year old car. I bought it with about 140000 mile on it and it is now getting close to 190000 miles and I have had to do no major repairs. I have had to do a little maintenance ie new clutch and both cv joints and an oxygen sensor and new tires. But that is not too bad in my opinion. As for the ride its comfortable nice seats and the suspension is at a good level for a day to day car. Not so soft you role around but not so hard its annoying. Handling is decent not the best on snow/ice though. Acceleration is again average. Most things about this car are average except two things. The boot space and back seat is spacious and the durability is very good. Over all i would totally by this car for a commuter but there are more fun cars out there.

After 12 years of the Elantra I have to say that all in all I love this vehicle. It has gotten me from point A to point B for so long and been so reliable that it really is hard to hate on this car. It had done its job for so long and I appreciate it. I recommend this car to anyone that needs a daily driver that can also save them a lot of money on gas!
