2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - Great car, only minor issues
This car is now 1 year old, and has performed relatively well in that time. However, one month after I bought it brand new, the gear shifter became stuck in drive. I had to have it taken to the dealership where they had to replace a brand new part. I was lucky it happened on a Saturday and while I was in my home, because I was unable to turn the car off and that would have been a very dangerous situation otherwise. It handles very well on curves, and the turbo engine gives a nice burst of speed when needed. There isn't a lot of trunk space, but that is pretty standard for a sports coupe. I do often have trouble with the Bluetooth connectivity and the satellite radio connectivity. The Bluetooth will drop out in the middle of a call, if it will connect at all. And the voice recognition s... (more)

I do often have trouble with the Bluetooth connectivity and the satellite radio connectivity. The Bluetooth will drop out in the middle of a call, if it will connect at all. And the voice recognition software is pretty terrible. It can never understand what I'm telling it, and more than once it has called people I didn't ask it to. (I am a native English speaker with no accent, this shouldn't be a problem) The interior is a nice soft black leather on the dash and steering wheel. The cloth seats get a little itchy at times. I get a lot of compliments on the exterior style, and most people don't know it's kind of a cheap car. All in all, it was a good buy for the price.
The most fun I had was the first morning I drove to work on this very curvy mountain road that I used to have to essentially slow to a stop to take the turns. I didn't even have to hit the brake with the Genesis. I felt like a stunt driver.

I love the way it handles on the road, and especially the turns of hillside streets. The turbo engine is very fast, and allows me to maneuver through traffic very well. It is also a very aesthetically pleasing car from the outside.

First and foremost was the defective gear shifter out of the factory. I'm still mad about that because I bought the thing brand new so that I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking down in dangerous ways. That could have left me stranded very seriously. The electrical system is also pretty bad. The satellite radio can't often connect, and the Bluetooth is just as bad if not worse. The key pro of voice recognition and Bluetooth connection is safety, and I feel like I've been put in more unsafe situations than normal just because I have to deal with the system malfunctioning. The turbo engine definitely drains gas, even though it's fun to use.
2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - Great sports car for the money
This vehicle has been good all the way around. The performance is great, cornering, acceleration and breaking are all more than adequate and make the vehicle fun to drive. This vehicle is high quality, I have driven almost 30,000 miles so far without any issues. No interior or exterior rattles, the engine has not lost any power and it still drives like it did when it was new. The interior features are amazing. The controls and navigation are very intuitive and easy to learn, the steering wheel controls and sound system quality make every drive enjoyable.

I love driving my car around on back roads. The way it handles makes it a great experience.

My favorite things about this car include handling around corners, the navigation system, the look and feel of the interior and the sound system. The car almost corners like it is on rails, it feels as though you are glued to the road. The voice controls on the navigation system are top notch, it understands you every time, even when the windows are down. The interior and the sound system make you feel like you are in a car that is worth twice as much, it's a great experience. It makes me smile every time I get in the car. Another thing I like about this vehicle is, even though it is a small car, with a little tweaking you can fit a golf bag in the trunk. I was very surprised and happy to find out about this, because I like to play golf regularly.
I don't really have any complaints about this car. If I could change 1 thing, it would probably be to make the engine a little more powerful. Though, the way it is, it is by no means weak.

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - Excellent Value, Drives Like a Dream!
After Honda stopped making the S2000 in 2009, I was a little lost for a good rear wheel drive sports car under $50,000. Along comes the Genesis Coupe, and I was really excited!
The 2010 - 2012 body styles were ok, but the new front end on the 2013 model really caught my eye, so I decided to take the plunge in mid-2012, so I have had the car for almost twenty-four months.
The styling is aggressive, and the car handles and accelerates beautifully. No complaints on the comfort, engine, suspension, transmission, etc. I do have two complaints on some fairly minor issues so far.
1. Some of the interior pieces wearing badly. The metallic plastic trim piece on the driver's door is flaking slightly, and some of the plugs on the interior have been popping out recently, and the seat fabric is... (more)

2. There has been an with the touchscreen for the navigation system. Frankly, the thing just will not stay calibrated, and, after 6 months, the dealer still has not been able to fix it.
Performance: This car is FAST, and handles like a champ due to the wide tires. Traction control also functions quite nicely on the ice, and helps a lot in snow.
Interior room: my boyfriend is 6'2", and even he fits comfortably into the driver and passenger seats.
Style: beautiful, aggressive look

You get what you pay for: this car is by FAR the best value on the market for a RWD sports car, and they had to cut corners someplace. Looks great, but some of the materials are cheap, as I am discovering after almost 2 years of ownership.
