2003 Jeep Liberty Owner Ratings & Reviews

2003 Jeep Liberty -
I really love my Jeep - I've had it for at least four years now, and I'm pretty impressed that it's still working smoothly and reliably. I commute for almost two hours each way on a daily basis, and I've never had an issue with the car during my commute. I previously owned a smaller Volkswagen sedan and I definitely prefer this car as it it's high up and I can see past most of the larger cars and trucks during my commute. I also like the style of the car; my Jeep is silver and has no dents or scratches on the body. It still has the original tire sleeve (and tire - I've never punctured a tire or gotten a flat). I have over 150,000 miles at this point, and once I need to get a replacement I'll probably opt for another Jeep. I purchased this Liberty for about $8,000, so I feel as th... (more)
Story
My friends and I took a trip to the Bonnaroo Music Festival (in TN) using the Jeep, and it was really fun. It did really well storing all of our camping gear and navigating the muddy parking lot.
Pros
There are lots of things I love about this Jeep Liberty. It's very spacious and can fit all of my family as well as tons of stuff in the trunk. I've used it to move in and out of college, travel cross-country, and move from apartment to apartment. I also love that it's powerful and can maneuver terrain easily. I come from the snowy Northeast/New England region, and there have been many times I've needed to use the four-wheel drive to get myself unstuck on ice or mud. I also love the interior and features of my car. The seats are leather, which is critical to me, and I have a sun roof ... (more)
Cons
The biggest cons by far are the gas mileage and the fact that my A/C is broken. As I mentioned, my commute is two hours each way and it usually takes about half a tank of gas per day to get me from work to home. It's a big tank, and I usually have to fill up once every other day so it ends up being extremely costly. This also means that I get services more frequently which are also very costly. My car does not break down but it does cost me anywhere from $200-700 per service. In addition, my air conditioning in the car no longer works and the quote to fix it was extremely expensive. ... 2003 Jeep Liberty - The best Jeep.
I love my Jeep. It is great to drive in heavy city traffic and to drive in the country and mountains. I live in a area were we get snow occasionally, and I never have to worry about driving on dangerous roads. I have four-wheel drive, and I love it. I like to travel a lot, and my car is great for carrying everything. Love going to jewelry fairs, and I am able to pack a lot of boxes and displays in my Jeep. I love how easy it is to fold down the back seat. I can open the back door and slide things in or just open the back window and throw thing in the back. I also like that I am high off the ground and can see over many cars. I have over a 150,000 miles, and I have enjoyed every mile of them. My Jeep interior still looks great. The seats are big and comfortable. Everyone has plenty of r... (more)
Story
My most memorable story is when we had snow and the city was shut down, but I was still able to get out. When I came home, I was the only car in the neighborhood that didn't have a wreck or get stuck in a ditch.
Pros
Some of my favorite features of my Jeep is it is high off the ground. This gives me plenty of clearance when running over things. I love to squeeze between cars and drive up on the curve to get in to the turning lane. I like how the back door open out so I can slide thing into the car. If I need to I can leave the back window open and let long objects hang out. I like the console because you can use it as a arm rest. There is plenty of room for long legs and head room. I like that I can control the lock on the doors from the driver's side and that no one can figure out how to open the win... (more)
Cons
The negative thing about my car is the fuel. It uses a lot of fuel. Unfortunately, I can't find another car that is good on gas and has everything I want in a Jeep.
