Not as reliable as I'd expect from Jeep.
We purchased this vehicle because we had to. We had traveled out of state helping family move, and the only vehicle available broke down to the point where it was unsafe and needed to be scrapped. We were forced to acquire a vehicle so we could continue the trip and make it home. This was the only thing we could afford with our financing options at the time. Jeep was a trusted brand, so we thought we would try it out. It performed well enough getting us home, but has had many maintenance problems in the last few years from neglect or abuse by the previous owners. This is not a vehicle we trust to go out of town very often, and since we live in rural Wyoming going out of town means at least a 2 hour trip in any direction. It has completely broken down to the point of needing to be towed no fewer than three times in the last three years, and according to the dealership it needs another $800.00 of work in the next few months or once again it will be unsafe to drive. I hear that Jeep engines are superior quality and last forever, but at this point I don't have much confidence in the rest of the vehicle. When it works it works well, but it hasn't done much to earn my trust since I purchased it. It has been only 3 years and I am already thinking about replacing it, and my wife and I have discussed that possibility several times.

The Jeep is the best for dependability
This Jeep is so reliable. It was four-wheel drive and has completely cured my anxiety about driving during the wintertime. It is sturdy, and I feel safe in it. It has a rugged quality that makes me feel adventurous, and I like how I feel when I drive in it. The Jeep has been very dependable and has never broken down, so maintenance costs have been very minimal. I have only had to do a few oil changes and replacement of the windshield wipers.
