The Mercedes c280 offered a stylish appearance that was an eye-turner. No one knew what year the car was nor did it matter, A Mercedes is always in style. I enjoyed the tan leather seats, and the overall crisp interior matched the beautiful exterior. However, a car is more than appearance.... Performance wise, I was not happy with the c280. Acceleration was slow, it seemed as if my car struggled to accelerate unless it was in sports mode. Sports mode worked like a pro, but it killed my gas tank. Maintenance is another story... Overall, I would never buy another.
Story
The car would attract a lot of attention for its beauty. I have memories of people admiring it at red lights or when it was parked at a meter.
Pros
My favorite features of the vehicle was the exterior body shape (C280). I loved the interior, which was covered in a light tan leather that was able to withstand many road trips. The sports mode turned my c280 into a viper. It made acceleration smooth and fast, and I was able to keep up with the best while on the freeway.
Cons
Sports mode was my favorite, but I did not use it often because of the damage it did to my gas tank. I lost so much gas, and Mercedes take premium, so my wallet really suffered. Maintenance was also expensive. The car only takes synthetic oil. I was lucky to get an oil change for $120, which was the least I ever spent. Also, the were notifications for A or B maintenance monthly! It would be for stupid things like checking windshield fluid or tire pressure, but the Mercedes dealer charged over $100 each time. The reminders would not go away until maintenance was done. What a headache!

I really like driving this car. My previous drive was a Mustang and I really like the sporty, heavy power of a sports car and was relieved to find that in a quality 4 door. The interior is surprisingly roomy for what appears to be a small car from the outside. Same follows with the trunk. The seats, leather and trimmings inside are pretty much what you would expect; higher quality than a non-luxury brand but not super top of the line. Great for a step up into luxury and as a daily driver.
Pros
The feel on the road. The quietness of the drive. Great stock speakers.
Cons
Small things (like the emblem on the gear shift, lumbar support handle in the seats etc) seem to break really easily. They aren't necessary repairs but just annoying and things I don't think should break readily. I think the Florida sun/heat might be a factor in this though. Parts are expensive... but that is to be expected. Might just be my particular car but the cruise control is not on a button on the steering wheel. There is a lever behind the wiper control. Annoys me every time!
