I bought my car preowned in 2005, so I have had my 15 year old car for 12 years. And it has been more reliable than I could have imagined. In the 12 years that I have owned it, I have never had major work done (other than oil changes and replacing the occasional belt). It wasn't until I've had the car for 10 years that I actually read some professional reviews on it, and I am glad that I never read them when I bought it. A professional reviewer says the interior is bland and uninspiring. That's true. But with what I could afford, it looked much nicer than other brands/models in my budget. In fact, Mitsubishis are typically the cheapest in their class. So when 20 year old me with nothing more than a dime to his name goes to buy a car, I am looking at absolute entry-level compact cars. B... (more)
Story
I have put 150,000 miles on my car and have never regretted a trip. I have taken it all around Colorado. Weekend trips to Denver, small mountain towns like Monument and La Veta to see family, Cripple Creek for some casino action, Red Rocks for outdoor music festivals, Breckenridge for skiing, Castle Rock and Silverthorne for amazing outlet shopping malls, and the old tunnels of gold camp road ... Pros
What I loved, first and foremost, was that I could afford this class with features that came stock. As I already mentioned, my budget typically only includes compact/subcompact cars with no bells and whistles. My car may not have leather interior, but it has power windows, cruise control, and keyless entry--things I never had on a car up to that point. I also like how surprisingly roomy the car is. The front cabin has ample leg room for both driver and passenger. The driver and passenger seats are slightly recessed, giving extra room to the back passengers. A nice touch I never had in a ve... Cons
Although the back is spacious, it isn't spacious enough for the dreaded infant car seat. What an infant car seat goes in, the front seat needs to be all the forward. Whoever is sitting in the front will have their knees on the dash. Toddler seats still limit your leg room a tad, but not nearly as bad as the infant seat. My wife had to ride in the back seat next to our child for the year our kid was in the infant seat. If you like loud music, the trunk isn't the best for subwoofers. While the trunk is big, the back seat doesn't fold all of the way down, only 40%. This makes installation har... (more)

I own a 2002 gray Mitsubishi Galant. It's a 4-door sedan with a V6 engine. I've had this car for at least five years and I think it's one of the more stylish vehicles I've owned. The car has a more sleek, yet sporty look. The front hood and both bumpers make the vehicle seem more expensive that it was. One of the things I dislike is how easy it was for the seats to get dirty. Also after the third year, whenever the weather gets bad, such as a heavy thunderstorm, the car would not start. Other than that, the car runs like a dream.
Story
My Galant has a sun roof, which is great for the summertime. One day, my best friend needed a ride to take her kitten to the vet. The kitten was having a lot of trouble staying in his cage, so we let him out to explore the back seat for a bit to calm down. Little did I know, the kitten slowly walked up to us in between the front seats and jumped up! He jumped so high for a kitten that I swear,... (more)
Pros
The top positive things about the vehicle are the look, how dependable it's been (especially for the first few years), its strong V6 engine, and its gas mileage. The Galant always looks so stylish, especially after a car wash, the gray color would shine against the sunlight and look really nice. I've been using this car for at least five years and it hasn't given me much trouble, other than leaking some oil or whenever we've had heavy rains in the area. The gas mileage is great. Between my drives from home, work, going out, I usually only need to go to the gas stations about once every two... (more)
Cons
Since my Galant is a pretty old vehicle, there's some oil or antifreeze leaks. It's not worth it for me to fix the leaks at the moment, so I just normally stock up on some engine oil and antifreeze I purchased from AutoZone and refill them as needed in between oil changes. The biggest con of this vehicle is when it doesn't start in heavy rains or after a big thunderstorm. The car's battery is still good and I hear it cranking but for some reason, the parts under the hood (most likely the spark plugs and/or distributor cap) get too much moisture and stalls the car. That just makes it a bur... (more)
