I like how my car has better performance and more horsepower than the regular 4 cylinder engine of the Nissan Altima, and on top of that I still get roughly 34 miles per gallon. It beats out the Toyota Camry when it comes to handling, it feels more connected to the road rather than more of like a boat when driving the Camry hybrid. Given that the Altima hybrid feels better to drive than the Camry hybrid, it actually has the same hybrid technology that the Camry has. Apparently Nissan leased this technology from Toyota, so basically in my opinion, they improved the concept of a hybrid 4 door family sedan by making it more sportier, but at the same time keeping with the performance sporty nature of the Altima.
Story
Not really, its just my car.
Pros
My favorite features of the 2008 Nissan Altima are the gas mileage, the handing, and also the performance. You just aren't going to find a hybrid vehicle from 2008 that boosts almost 200 horsepower, while at the same time reaching 34 miles per gallon. Not to mention how the car handles at high speeds and around corners. I also like the styling of the car as it was completely revamped during the 2007 year, and then a spoiler was added in 2008 to completely refine the look of the car.
Cons
One of the biggest downfalls of the 2008 Nissan Altima hybrid is the large shifts between the electric motor and the gas engine. Each time the car switches b/w engine and electric it is a little rough and I wish it could have been made smoother. Also, I believe Nissan really priced themselves out of the market when it came to adding the technology feature in the car wanting to charge me over 4,000 dollars for the navigation unit, Bluetooth, and Bose stereo. Instead I just plug my mobile phone into the auxiliary input and get all of these options (sans Bose stereo) for free. I don't th... (more)

The car is really efficient. It reminds me when I need maintenance and has good safety features. I only have to fill it up with gas every 3-4 weeks (though I don't drive very much. It is not too big for me to drive and fits into some smaller parking spaces. So far, I have not had any major problems with the car itself. The tire pressure sensor is broken, though. I had it repaired once and it broke again and was not worth the money to fix. For the mileage, though, it cannot be beat. I drive hundreds for miles between school and home and I can do that drive 4 times without having to fill up again.
Story
It's just really awesome to be able to make the nearly 200 mile drive home from school on about one quarter of a tank of gas. As a college student, saving money is always a great experience.
Pros
The mileage is absolutely the best part about the vehicle. I consistently get about 32-35 miles per gallon, depending on the weather. Even though I only have the base model, it still has great features, like an auxiliary input which is very important to me.
Cons
The seats are really uncomfortable after about 3-4 hours driving. It is definitely not the most comfortable car. Also, there are no heated seats which is always a really nice touch to have. The trunk is a bit small due to it being a hybrid.
