2014 Nissan Versa Note OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Louisville, Kentucky
Good car, but has problems.
I bought the car brand new. It was great for about a year and then the transmission went out. Like completely just broke. It was a brand new car, and it already needed a new transmission with about 15,000 miles on it. Luckily it was still under warranty and was fixed for free. But then about 4 months later, the sealant went out on the transmission, or something like that. I did research on other Versa Notes manufactured before 2014, and they had lots of trans problems. It's an ongoing issue with this car, so beware of that. On the pro side, the car is very roomy. It's deceiving how much room the backseat has when you look at the car from outside. The seats go down and really open up the hatchback and can actually fit some decent sized furniture and other stuff. Gas mileage is great. I average about 35 mph, even doing a lot of city driving. It's a cute car with plenty of window space - I hate cars that have tiny windows that make it difficult to see all sides. I'm just about 45,000 miles into the car and things seem to be going well. The only problem I've had was the transmission, but that's a HUGE problem. So I would look into the newer versions, or check the on used versions. If the transmission was replaced, hopefully it was replaced with a different year trans.

The perfect grandma car for a 20something
This car seems like your average hatchback, but it's got more than it appears to at first. It's tiny enough to maneuver into tight spaces, yet has plenty of legroom and cargo space. It was not only built for function, but built for convenience and comfort. Even with some of the most basic options, the money spent on this car goes a long way. Mine has SiriusXM radio with a decent stereo system, Bluetooth, iPod/USB connection, a backup camera, more than enough cupholders for all passengers, and seating for five people. It feels like an SUV, but is lightweight. I'm only 5'4", but I sit up high enough to see where I'm driving, and I can accelerate quickly. The gas mileage is so good, that you fill up less frequently and easily forget which side the gas tank is on. I put over 1500 miles on this car every month (mostly on the highway), and maintenance has not been a problem. This car is more reliable than cars I have had in the past, and I feel safe knowing about the side-curtain and head airbags. It's also versatile - I can fasten a paddleboard to the roof racks and take it to the lake, or fold down the rear seats and stuff my car with supplies for events that I plan in the community.

Good for short travels
The Nissan Versa Note is a good little car for traveling in short trips. It has decent gas mileage as well when going around town. The farthest I've driven it is to Moreno Valley/Riverside or to San Marcos and Carlsbad. Each time, I didn't have too much of a problem with gas consumption, though the air conditioner can be a gas hog. When driving, there are a few minor problems. As long as you're on flat roads or ones where there are no steep ascents or descents, it drives very well. It handles great when you need to break fairly quickly but not accelerate so well after sitting still for a few minutes.
