2000 Pontiac Grand Am - Sporty car, great maneuverability, not too small.
I bought my car three years ago used, had to do the basic, new brakes, rotors and tires. It has had issues in 3 yrs. but what do expect when you purchase a used vehicle with 150,000 miles already on it. I see it has had some issues as the car is 18 yrs. old and things get old. Overall, it is a very comfortable, for the driver, my interior is cloth and amazingly no rips, tears, stains. I always get compliments on the vehicle, from older and younger generation. I do wish I could have purchased the vehicle when it was new or newer. In the year 2000, I'm certain this was the car to have, well sought out. It does however, have some interior noise, possibly from the trunk latch, I was rear ended a year and a half ago, through no fault of my own. I really have nothing ill to say about the car... (more)
Story
Being stopped at a traffic light and people giving me thumbs up, even will tell me they love the car.
Pros
Sporty looking and love the "lay in your lap tilt steering wheel". Handles and drives well, hugs the road.
Cons
Engine has a lifter tap noise I've been trying to quiet down. It's not a rod knock. Also Pontiac stopped making cars, so I wont ever be able to find a new Grand Am.
2000 Pontiac Grand Am - Love of my life.
I love the responsiveness of my 2000 Grand Am GT. The handling was crisp, and she did what I wanted her to do. Multiple trips back and forth from Oklahoma to Iowa and she never gave me much fuss.
Story
I remember the numerous road trips I took in my Grand Am. The sound system that came stock impressed other motorists into thinking I had an aftermarket system.
Pros
I liked that fact that my 2000 Grand Am GT didn't cost a lot to fill the tank. With gas prices staying near the three dollar mark or higher, I enjoyed the fuel efficiency. I didn't have to preform a bunch of maintenance on this vehicle either. I kept mine for all of fifteen years and had only one rebuild and a water pump replacement. Other than new tires and routine maintenance, she was a dream.
Cons
After about fifteen years of owning, she became too much to handle. I don't even know if this is a con because of the money-to-use ratio. She did start to leak oil from the heads after about nine years, but the rebuild took care of that. Other than the number of recalls on it, I would buy this vehicle again, definitely.
