My vehicle is the 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT. It has two doors, and it's a V6 engine. I love the car. I've had it for about six years. It drives really smooth. I bought it used at a really affordable price. I like how sleek the car looks, and it will go fast. Here recently--as with any vehicle--I've had some maintenance issues with the car, but overall, it has performed well. I have driven it on long trips across many states while vacationing without any issues.
Story
One of my most memorable moments with this car is teaching my younger sister how to drive. She's 30 and just recently learning. I can definitely attest to the fact that the brakes on this car are very well made. The car also holds well on curves and old dirt roads. I think my sister spent more time hitting the brake pedal than she did the gas pedal. It was a lot of fun but nerve wracking at th... (more)
Pros
It can be purchased at an inexpensive price. It has a sunroof and a sporty look to it. It's great on gas mileage. It has lots of trunk room to store things. The stereo is high quality, and it has a anti-theft lock system feature. The interior is nice and easy to clean. It came with an easy-to-read car manual as well.
Cons
There has been a recent recall issue with the ignition. The car is also know for having coolant and overheating issues. Replacement parts and tires are expensive. Insurance is higher because it's a two-door model.

It's a great do it all car. The backseat lays down so you can accommodate a large variety of items. The seat splits so you can have passengers in the back and still haul cargo. It has a great sound system with a factory monsoon amplifier. The interior and exterior is sporty which makes it fun to drive. The seats are comfortable and hug you in curves. The 3.4 engine has enough get up and go to be perfect but not so much that it chugs gas. The highway gas mileage and in town both seem to be similar, and it's fairly inexpensive to drive. It's the perfect sports, utility, and family car rolled into one.
Story
I was on the highway and decided to use the acc button while passing. I read the manual wrong and instead of tapping it I held it in. I was going 90 in a 60 mph zone before it dawned on me to just turn off the cruise.
Pros
Body trim 3.4 Engine Sleek design Easy on gas Automatic transmission Sound system Fun to drive Interior lighting Interior design Back seats fold down Sunroof Power windows Remote entry Remote trunk release Hugs curves
Cons
Low profile tires seem rough riding Tires for vehicle are expensive Catalic converter goes bad easily Normal running temp is hot Difficult to enter backseat Shoulder strap holders are flimsy Wheel bearings go bad fast Built in sensor requires whole bearing to be replaced Low clearance Headlights fog up Rear lights hold water Bad pressurized antifreeze tank can make engine heads blow P204 can mean many things Collects dirt around tires causing premature rust Dash bows up due to cheap glue
