2004 Subaru Outback - I was so happy to get this car. It is the nicest car I have owned.

This car was a Subaru, a brand I was familiar with. It has 4 wheel drive, power window, a compass, nice radio and large trunk area. It was a 2004 car, the first I had owned in this century. It was a two tone car, dark green body and light green trim, airbags, very comfortable seats.
Story
I went off road with it one time. I was out in a rural area and saw a trail that had tire tracks on it. There were no signs about trespassing, so I took the car on the trail. The trail ended at a small lake with lots of trees. I could hear and see birds and it was peaceful. I didn't stay long because I was alone.
Pros
It had 4 wheel drive, which is necessary as the area I live has a lot of snow and ice in the winter. The heater was good, and to my surprise, the air conditioner worked well. Subarus can withstand a lot of mileage and my commute was in heavy traffic every morning and took about an hour each way. I had to have a dependable and safe car. My favorite features were the two-tone color, the 4 wheel drive, the compass, and the electric windows.
Cons
Subarus always get rusty over the hub of the rear wheels. Nothing can be done to prevent it and it is seen on all Subarus that have some years on them. I really have nothing negative other than that to mention. The car was exactly what I wanted and needed.

It handled great in winter weather. It was able to move on icy roads. It did not stop as well on icy roads, but I was able to stop it.
Story
In a big ice storm, I was able to drive while around me other cars were not able to.
Pros
It was able to move forward on snowy and icy roads. The cruise control worked very well on the highway and was quite enjoyable. The radio worked pretty well, and it was nice to have so many band widths I could use. In the last six months, one of the radio station buttons stopped working, however. There were a lot of spaces to put things, such as cup holders. There were pockets in the sides of the car to put things as well. The rear of the hatchback was really roomy, and I could fit a lot of things in it. There was also a privacy covering in the back that was great for hiding things from ou... (more)
Cons
It seems like I have to take it into the shop at least once a year. The brakes fail mainly. When the heat turned on, sometimes there was also a bad smell that accompanied it. The emergency brake was really hard to pull up all the way.
