I am a single mom of two girls and wanted a comfortable SUV or wagon with lots of room and bells and lots of comfort. This vehicle has great space in the back, and I can fit a fair amount of things in the back. The seats are roomy and comfortable. The gas mileage is decent, and I love many things about it like the lights when the car locks are turned on. I also love the lights by my feet at night, and they let off a pleasant blue light when the car is moving, but it is not distracting. When the car doors open at night, they let off a low light on the ground, which is great for puddles! The back seats have a fair amount of foot room, and my passengers always comment on how comfortable they are. I love the leather seats and how easily they are able to be cleaned. I can fit three rows of ... (more)
Story
Summers with the amazing A/C and sunroof. Also, the trips to the drive in and being able to fit three to four people in the back of the car with the roof up and tons of blankets and being comfortable!
Pros
Love the sunroof, leather seats, seat warmers, leg room, and trunk room. The look of the car is gorgeous, love the colors, and totally in love with the tinted windows. My toddler used to cry with the sun in her eyes, but now she is completely content. I love the puddle lights, and the fact that the car can go 0-60 in seconds. I also love that it is safe and easy to drive in the snow.
Cons
The cost of repairs and the loudness of the engine. I also don't like how loud it is when I start the car.

First of all, I didn't consider purchasing a used Subaru Outback before I went to the Subaru dealership. I was originally looking for used Subaru Forester. While I was at the dealership a salesman reviewed the features of the Outback, and encouraged me to take a used one on a test drive. After test driving used Foresters and used Outbacks, I decided on the Outback because I liked the way it handled on the highway. At the time of purchase, I was scheduled to do a lot of highway driving and would be hauling sports gear, dogs, and suitcases. I was very pleased with the amount of storage space we had for personal items, while still accommodating my two pets. Within one week of owning the used 2010 Subaru Outback, I experienced major issues with the front right tire pulling off to the ... (more)
Story
The time I most enjoyed the Subaru Outback was when I put three dogs and three kids in the car and headed to the park. There was plenty of room for my precious cargo and every kid and every dog had a smile on their face while they were being transported.
Pros
The Subaru Outback purchase was based on lifestyle. At the time of purchase I needed to be able to haul a bunch of stuff, some people, and some pets during long road trips. I thoroughly enjoyed how well the Outback handled most of the road trip configurations of people, pets, and stuff.
Cons
The Subaru Outback is a finicky vehicle. Front headlights have been replaced several times during the 3 years of ownership. There is a plate underneath the engine that protects the engine from road debris - no one seems to be able to fix it well enough to prevent it from rattling every time I drive the car and I'm tired of spending $17.95/dealership visit to have it put back the way it should be. The work done on the front right of the vehicle seemed to have corrected the pulling to the right issue but the minor shimmy didn't go away.
