I have over 134,000 miles on my Outback. I use this car almost like a work truck. I often town a small trailer which I load with building supplies, hay bales and a lot of other farm related stuff. This vehicle stands up to the work load. I have been all over the US in this car and it has never failed me. Subaru makes a quality vehicle. With the huge work load I have put on this car, I am amazed at how well it continues to perform.
Story
People often cannot believe how much I can tow with this vehicle. I had one guy in parking lot of Lowes, shake his head in disbelief at the load I was able to tow on my trailer and the fact that I would feet 8ft plus long lumber into the interior of the car itself.
Pros
Reliability and power. All wheel drive and stability.
Cons
The fiber on the seats is a pain in the ass to clean and keep clean.

I bought the 06 Subaru when I moved to new England. I was told to buy an all wheel drive car for snow. At the time there were not many options for all wheel drive. The car performs excellent in the snow, and the rain. It doesn't get the greatest gas mileage (23 city, 28 highway) compared to what I am used to, but it is better than most trucks that age. It is a wagon, so I do have plenty of room to haul stuff, especially weekend projects and hardware store runs.
Story
When I first moved up here, New England, and got the car I was driving in the snow. I came to a hill and seen a few cars struggling to get up the hill because of the snow and ice. Not knowing how well the car would do I decided to test it out. That day I passed 4 cars on that hill struggling to get up it. Pros
The top positive things about my 06 Subaru outback wagon is how it handles in the snow. I enjoy the room I have to haul stuff, whether for hardware runs, camping trips, weekend fishing trips, or just taking dogs for a walk.
Cons
The top negative things about my outback wagon is it sits lower than newer models. The gas mileage is not all that great compared to most cars. One of the cons with this car is all the factory recalls I had. Even though the factory paid for the recall and paid for the rentals, it was still an inconvenience. Being that it is a common car in New England parts and work done are higher than normal. The biggest con for this car is I just paid over 1800 dollars to have a leaking head gasket replaced at 128,000 miles.
