For a convertible, this car is very roomy. Although considered a two door vehicle, my car is easily as roomy as a four door sedan with all the fun that comes with owning a convertible. The trunk is huge and the top does not take up any room in the trunk when I put it down. I once hauled a dishwasher in the back seat by lowering the top.
Story
We recently had a lot of flooding in my area and my little convertible really impressed me when driving through high water. I was faced with the choice of losing my car for sure or attempt an escape and possibly lose the car. My car was up to the challenge and didn't sustain any damage from flood waters.
Pros
My Toyota gets excellent gas mileage and I can drive over 300 miles on a single tank. The V6 engine gives the car the extra pep I was looking for. With the heated seats, I can drive with the top down even when it is cold outside. The extra bright headlamps make night time driving easy and there are plenty of creature comforts and storage for all my stuff. Because my car is considered a Camry and has lots of safety features, the insurance is very inexpensive. This is the perfect car for a person that likes to work and play.
Cons
The biggest problem with the car is that the back seat is too windy when the top is lowered. There is however, a wind blocker thing that you can buy from a convertible top shop that will help with that.

I love the overall quality of the vehicle. It not caused any problems . It has needed just normal maintenance. The vehicle as a convertible could have been a problem. Others report leaking in their models but not mine. This Toyota Solara also has a great size trunk. Many convertibles sacrifice trunk space to allow the hood to retract. It rides smoothly. Recently due to its age we have noticed peeling of the leather and wood trim which is to be expected. Overall room is excellent for a convertible. Front driver space and passenger space is excellent. Back seats are true size but only if the driver and passenger are not sitting all the way back. Visibility is excellent with the roof down. With the roof up obviously the small back window inhibits great visibility but nothing that is probl... (more)
Story
Using the vehicle to travel to Lake George and other beach areas. Nothing is as great as having a convertible in beautiful weather even in the northeast.
Pros
Fast top down action. We have owned this car since getting it new in 2005. The car is very similar to the Lexus convertible, and I believe even shares numerous parts. The car now has 166,000 miles on it. It has always ridden well. We have never had any adverse issues with respect to the car operation other than normal maintenance. Most important is that we never had trouble with the convertible roof. Due to its age, it does not have a Bluetooth interface . Otherwise it has a multi-player CD, which is great. It has power seats, windows and other usual amenities for its age.
Cons
Small back seat. Small rear window when the top is up.
