I bought my Solara with the sunroof and a spoiler on the back a few months after my husband passed away. I traded in his giant American car for the smaller, sportier vehicle. I loved the futuristic, cockpit like interior and at night the car had an eerie blue light with digital display that felt strangely comforting. That car has 218,000 miles on it and climbing. When I bought it, I was told that it was built on a Lexus body. It had that airtight quality of a luxury car and handled like one, too.
Story
We have a dog park called Paw Park near us. And, like I said, my Solara has a big trunk. Back when my daughter was young I used to fold down the rear seats and let her play inside with her puppy and her dog park friends.
Pros
I love the look of my sporty black car with the gray interior. When I open the sunroof, it's summer no matter where I am or the time of year. The front seats recline far enough to take a quick nap on a long road trip. Also, for a smaller car, the trunk is huge. I have moved numerous times over the last decade and it has proven that it's worth its weight in moving expenses. I fit an entire set of patio furniture in that little car once.
Cons
This car is really in the Toyota Camry family. That group of cars had a "melting dash" issue. About 6 years into my ownership, I noticed that I couldn't get the dashboard clean. It would seem gooey. No matter how I cleaned it, little fibers of sponge or rag would stick to it. Then it began to crack as if the sun had parched it. I discovered that this is a manufacturers defect and most owners were compensated for that.

I bought this car used, and I was already in love with in when I saw it on the lot. The sales person was great, not pushy at all, which made the buying experience so much easier. As you know, the process of purchasing a car can be long and drawn-out, but this purchase, it seemed was the easiest car purchase I've ever made. The car already was over 100,000 miles, and yet, you would think it had never been driven. The interior was impeccable, and the exterior showed no wear and tear. It is a V6, and it has power. I love it.
Story
Going camping for the first time with a group of friends. First car trip, first trip with friends and we had fun. The car made it more pleasurable.
Pros
Price, quality of car for purchase price, exterior and interior looks, moon roof, and very spacious. Also, the trunk is so large you could fit an entire camping outing and still have room in trunk.
Cons
Not much. A couple of cosmetic dings. High mileage. Needed new tires after driving 1,000 miles.
