Initially I thought the FJ Cruiser was a funny looking SUV, but now that I've had it and it runs so well, I love the way it looks as a vehicle. I'm able to go anywhere and handle any type of weather due to the great four-wheel drive feature. I've also been in crazy traffic and was able to go over a rocky dirt road to avoid sitting in traffic with everyone else. I bet those people wished they had my FJ Cruiser when I sped off and left them to sit there for an hour. It also has a lot of power. I love how I never worry getting onto a highway. I can speed up and get on with no trouble. It's also a solid car. I never have maintenance issues or have any breakdowns. I got this SUV when it was only seven years old! You would think I would have to do a lot of maintenance but I don't. That's al... (more)
Story
We were stuck on this two lane highway surrounded by rocks and dirt, and we were sitting in traffic. My husband decided he didn't want to sit in traffic anymore and turned off the highway and went off roading. We left all those people behind sitting in traffic. It was definitely a lot of fun.
Pros
Reliability. Horse power. Four-wheel drive. Lots of cargo space.
Cons
It has suicide doors so people sitting in the back cannot let themselves out. It has pretty large blind spot because of the way the windows are. The gas mileage isn't that great. I feel like on long trips I've filling up the tank a lot.

This truck is almost perfect. I love the look, the feel, they style. Snow and mud are no problem with the 4WD. I always have fun driving this truck, and still after 7 years I love to look at it. This vehicle has never had mechanical problems at 60k miles. Back door are a bit awkward but I always try to park far away from other cars in any lot.
Story
The low beams are quite annoying to other drivers on the road, and every time I drive at night people flash me with their highs. I love to show these drivers what my real high beams look like.
Pros
Fun to drive, great 4WD, lots of room in the back for luggage, etc., Vehicle still looks new after 7 years. Very few paint chips. Off roading is a dream, this little truck can get over anything with ease, and look good doing so. I feel safe when I am in it. Privacy glass is great to keep the sun out of the back seat. The rubber feel of the seat is great, I don't have to worry about stains. The rubber floors is GREAT, I can just scrub the mud out. Traction control and antilock brakes, power outlets, 6 DC changer, mp3 capability all come in handy.
Cons
My only cons would be the blind spots, the gas mileage, and the back seat leg room. I have three very tall sons, which were not so tall when I purchased the car. They can barely squeeze into the back seat now. The spare tire takes up much of the rear window, rendering it almost useless. Slow pick-up relative to the other cars on the highway. Roads are full of speeders here and I have to push the FJ pretty hard to merge on.
