I have had this car since last August. When I first took a test drive, I fell in love! The ride is silky smooth. Everything is nice and tight. This vehicle is so well made, just what you would expect from Toyota. When snow arrived, I was like a big kid and had to try her out in the snow. Nothing would stop her. This vehicle in a 4 x 4 with many options to use. It has different traction settings for rock crawling, mud, what ever you put in her path. It has a rear camera, which I am not too fond of since it is a tiny screen built into the rear view mirror. People say they have limited vision, but if you are a mirror driver, like you should be, it is not a problem.
Story
I love to hike in nature. I love finding dirt roads to ride down, just to challenge myself and the FJ. My daughter and I took her out to the boonies and camped in the back. We had lots of room for sleeping.
Pros
Well built, reliable. It goes anywhere. Very fun to drive. Smooth ride and pretty good gas mileage for a truck, coming in at 18-21 MPG.
Cons
No GPS. No technological features linking it to your cellphone.

The FJ Cruiser is a highly capable off-road vehicle. I've never been able to get it stuck despite being in deep sand, snow and mud. It's more roomy and comfortable than a Wrangler in my opinion and just as able to conquer any terrain. The interior is not luxurious but is comfortable, especially for a vehicle of this type. Fuel economy is low, and the gas tank is relatively small giving it a range of only around 250 miles in practice, less when off road.
Story
My wife and I and some friends went on a 135-mile trip, nearly all of it off pavement on the Mojave Road. The trip included some water crossings about 2 feet deep sand dunes, a salt lake, and a beautiful Joshua Tree forest. Highly recommended.
Pros
Easily handles deep sand, snow, rocks and general off-road terrain. Tons of options for customization including wheels, tires, bumpers, trail armor and interior customizations. Extremely reliable and inexpensive to maintain. The factory recommended service is very inexpensive.
Cons
The paint on mine (white in color) is stained. Constantly looks dirty. Poor visibility on the road. Relatively slow acceleration. Poor fuel economy. Small gas tank/range before fuel is needed.
