The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is great as a family vehicle. We got the Hybrid because we wanted an SUV but also remain environmentally friendly. It is a great family car with lots of space and seating. We chose Toyota in general because it is a recognized brand with a good safety record. The Highlander has been great on gas for a SUV. The amenities it comes with are also awesome. It is stylish and looks different from most other SUVs. The trim and finish are nice looking and gives it a complete polished look The colors and styles are limited though, and that's one of its downfalls. It definitely has been reliable since we have had it, no issues to report. We have not had to take it in for servicing, just normal maintenance and check. Pros
The safety record. The back up mirror The built in iPod dock
Cons
We had to settle for a color that we did not necessarily want. The radio sound quality was poor

2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid - I love this car...It is big enough to even haul a kayak inside without putting it on top

I just bought this car off of my mom and I love it. It is roomy, gets great gas mileage and is stylish at the same time. It has all the features on it that make it a great buy. I absolutely love Toyotas.
Story
I just got it off my mom so I haven't had any time to make fun memories in it.
Pros
This car is roomy, it has a lot of additional features (sunroof, XM radio, cruise control etc.). It gets great gas mileage and is a smooth drive. Easy to control the vehicle in all types of weather (I have driven it in the snow when my mom owned it and it did great). The car has so much room inside the cab that I can put my kayak inside it instead of tying it to the roof.
Cons
The only negative thing I can think of is the cost of tires. This car has large, expensive tires that will put me in a pinch when it comes time to change them.
