2015 Toyota Prius c - Prius C is a great car for a young professional.

The Prius c is highly fuel efficient, which is nice when commuting to and from work, and also when needing to go to the gym and run errands. The front seats are relatively spacious for such a small car. Having a hatchback with foldable rear seats is nice too, since larger items can be placed in this area. The Prius also has a large following, so there are a lot of forums online that can give you general information about the car, how it works, and how to customize it. There are also a lot of sites that sell items to customize the car. One important consideration for the Prius c is that it is a small car and is not very heavy. Sometimes when driving on the highway at about 75 mph it feels like the car is slightly unstable. It never feels unsafe, but it can be a disconcerting feeling to ... (more)
Story
My dad and I like to compete to see who can get the highest driving score. We often go similar routes, like to the store or to run other errands, so sometimes we drive along the same routes so we can directly compare our scores. We both enjoy driving the car, and this is an added way to make driving even more fun.
Pros
The best feature of the car is the fuel efficiency, and the added capability of tracking the energy usage of the car. There is a screen in the center of the front console that can show what type of power the car is using (gas or electric), what is happening when you hit the brake, accelerate, etc., and can also track your driving "score", which can be fun to do. I also like that the Prius c comes in such bright colors. Mine is green, but there is also yellow, orange, and blue, along with more subdued colors.
Cons
The feature I am most critical about is that the car has a difficult time accelerating. It is hard to be able to move quickly and maneuver the car in traffic sometimes because it feels a bit sluggish. Also, the fact that it is light makes the car feel less powerful than I am used to, since I used to drive a slightly bigger car. Another slight drawback to the car is that there is currently no cover that is made for the hatchback trunk area. I currently use a black towel to put on top of items I have in the back. This keeps things like groceries cool in the summer, and also blocks more valua... (more)

The greatest pro to the Prius C is the fact that it saves you a lot on gas; it regularly only takes me about $15-20 to fill up the tank, and I don't have to fill it very often. It doesn't accelerate as strongly as other cars, but it more than makes up for it in savings and practicality. This car is also impressively quiet even when "revved." It has eco and EV modes, the latter of which makes the car nearly silent, which is great if you're driving home at a late hour. I appreciate having the option to change the modes. It's surprisingly spacious, and the four doors come in handy -- no more having to climb in/out of the back seat! The trunk space offers adequate room for groceries and other cargo, and this vehicle is just the right height for my 5'3" frame. Overall, I enjoy this car, and... (more)
Story
I went to Publix a few days after getting this vehicle. The grocery store employee who helped me out was highly curious about my car, and he asked various questions about it. He requested if I could run the engine for him to hear. He asked me a second time when I was revving it, and I said, "I am revving it!" He was absolutely stunned by how quiet it was, and he was thinking about getting one!
Pros
It saves a ton on gas, and it charges its own battery when braking. It's surprisingly spacious, and it runs quietly and smoothly. The UI and displays are easy to use, and it has built-in safety features to prevent people from getting distracted while driving. Further, it allows for Bluetooth connection with other devices. Oh, and this is the first time I've had a vehicle with a rear window wiper, which can be a lifesaver!
Cons
This particular trim does not allow seat height adjusting, and there's no cruise control (which isn't a big deal if you don't drive long distance on highways). The special battery also lacks nodes, so you can't jumpstart anyone.
