This car is not only fuel efficient, but a pleasure to drive. It hugs the road, is peppy, and maneuvers well. I've had other people drive the car, and they tell me they are surprised how well it handles I take a 1500 mile round trip every few months, and I've saved tons on gas. On long road trip going up and down mountains it averages 45 mpg. It's a little more around town, unless I am running the air conditioner, then the mpg drops to about 40. Its small size makes finding a parking spot in the city much easier. I've owned the vehicle for over 3 years, and beyond normal maintenance, have had no problems whatsoever. One thing I had to get used to is that in EV mode it is so quiet, many times people don't hear me approaching them. I've had people walk right out in front of me. For being... (more)
Story
Lots of fun to drive to Mexico, which I do every few months. I sometimes go alone, sometimes with my spouse. I enjoy putting in an audio book and listening as the hours and miles pass. The city I go to, San Miguel de Allende, has a lot of old cobblestone streets, especially in Centro, and the streets can be very tight. There have been many times I've watched larger vehicles pass up a too small... (more)

The Prius c is highly fuel efficient, which is nice when commuting to and from work, and also when needing to go to the gym and run errands. The front seats are relatively spacious for such a small car. Having a hatchback with foldable rear seats is nice too, since larger items can be placed in this area. The Prius also has a large following, so there are a lot of forums online that can give you general information about the car, how it works, and how to customize it. There are also a lot of sites that sell items to customize the car. One important consideration for the Prius c is that it is a small car and is not very heavy. Sometimes when driving on the highway at about 75 mph it feels like the car is slightly unstable. It never feels unsafe, but it can be a disconcerting feeling to ... (more)
Story
My dad and I like to compete to see who can get the highest driving score. We often go similar routes, like to the store or to run other errands, so sometimes we drive along the same routes so we can directly compare our scores. We both enjoy driving the car, and this is an added way to make driving even more fun.
Pros
The best feature of the car is the fuel efficiency, and the added capability of tracking the energy usage of the car. There is a screen in the center of the front console that can show what type of power the car is using (gas or electric), what is happening when you hit the brake, accelerate, etc., and can also track your driving "score", which can be fun to do. I also like that the Prius c comes in such bright colors. Mine is green, but there is also yellow, orange, and blue, along with more subdued colors.
Cons
The feature I am most critical about is that the car has a difficult time accelerating. It is hard to be able to move quickly and maneuver the car in traffic sometimes because it feels a bit sluggish. Also, the fact that it is light makes the car feel less powerful than I am used to, since I used to drive a slightly bigger car. Another slight drawback to the car is that there is currently no cover that is made for the hatchback trunk area. I currently use a black towel to put on top of items I have in the back. This keeps things like groceries cool in the summer, and also blocks more valua... (more)
