After owning this car for about four years, I can say it's one of the best cars I've owned. The car is quiet in the city and highway and gets excellent gas mileage. We have the sun package, which is great for living in an area that gets a lot of sun: tinted windows, window shades especially. Everything has held up well considering the large amount of city driving we do. The car has about 60,000 miles on it and we haven't had to do any repairs aside from scheduled maintenance. For longer trips, it's very comfortable and has the benefit of a third row of seats that can be folded down. The back without the third row can comfortably accommodate our two 80+ pound dogs lying down in a large dog bed. We also have a bike rack on the top that can hold four bikes with plenty of room to maneuver ... (more)
Story
Living near the Rock Mountains, we encounter a fair amount of snow fall unexpectedly when traveling. Our Q7 is amazing in the snow! We never worry about going skiing when snow is expected, while many of our friends with sedans stay at home.
Pros
The quiet ride is fantastic! The radio volume adjusts nicely when accelerating so the sound is consistent in all environments without having to fiddle with controls. Gas mileage for the diesel is great! For a larger SUV, this vehicle gets better than expected gas mileage in both the city and on the highway.
Cons
We maintain our Audi at a dealer and it gets expensive! There's an AdBlue diesel fuel additive that's required and it's a fair amount of cash to get it added. We've had a couple of minor repairs like the rear gate not recognizing that it's closed, which ended up being a few hundred dollars. That said, I think this is expected for a higher end car.

2014 Audi Q7 - Great dog car.

I love this car. The thing that is best about it is the amount of room it affords in the back for our two large dogs. They share an extra large dog bed in the cargo area and are comfortable. I like that the cargo area is somewhat high so my dogs can lie dog and rest their heads on the back of the back row seat. The third row of seats is great too though I'd like there to a bit more space back there. It can get quite hot because there aren't enough vents for the A/C to reach. I'd definitely buy this car again if they had kept the shape of the car the same. It's looking a bit more like a mini-van now. Also, I love the diesel engine. We have a TDI and the fuel efficiency is super on the highway and in the city. I'd recommend buying this model but be aware that fixing repairs and maintaini... (more)

I love riding through Rocky Mountain National Park with this car! As a passenger, the huge sun roof affords beautiful view of the mountains!
Pros
Good amount of cargo space. The style is super! Good gas mileage in the city or on the highway with the TDI. Smooth ride for such a heavy vehicle.
Cons
Too little room when sitting in the third row of seats. Too hot in the third row of seats. Passenger side bar between the windshield and passenger window is a bad position for me - can't see when making a right turn so I often curb the car.
