The 2005 Audi S4 is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Even though I picked this car up in 2013 and was the second owner, it has been so much fun since then and I think I got so much value out of it, that I would probably buy another one again. It has a lot of features, a nice, powerful engine, a rock solid manual transmission, and a gorgeous interior that matches the exterior paint.
Story
The 2005 Audi S4 is great to drive in the mountains with it's full time all wheel drive system, it corners so well and just hugs the road so it's a blast to drive on twisty, windy roads.
Pros
I think one of the most positive things about my 2005 Audi S4 is, of course, the high performance. It's 340 HP 4.2L V8 engine coupled to it's Quattro all wheel drive system truly inspires confidence in any conditions, wet, dry, or even in the snow. The car also gets a lot of compliments from other drivers on the road, which is nice. I also appreciate all of the thoughtful features the car has, such as plenty of interior compartments, cruise control, trip computer, power sunshades and sunroof, and more.
Cons
The two most negative aspects of the 2005 Audi S4 are maintenance costs and fuel economy. It only gets around 17-18 MPG around town, and maybe 22-24 MPG on the highway, which isn't great. In addition, repair and maintenance costs for this vehicle tend to be astronomical. Any potential owners of used German sports cars need to be aware of this aspect of ownership before buying a car that isn't under some kind of warranty.

My vehicle is a 2001 Audi S4, chassis designation B5. It has a 2.7 liter V6 twin turbocharged engine, and I bought it because I am a car guy, I love to go fast and have fast cars that are still luxurious. This car fit the bill perfectly. It is ridiculously fast but at the same time I would feel comfortable taking it on a long trip in luxury. The dislike that I have is that the car is very expensive to maintain. For example, I had to replace the alternator, which is a relatively simple task on most other cars, but on this S4 the whole front bumper needed to be taken off, and it was over a $1,000 repair.
Story
I love going to the beach in rhode island with the car, and going to car shows at Gilette stadium.
Pros
My favorite thing about the vehicle is the blend of speed and luxury. It is fast on acceleration and can beat most cars on a drag strip, but at the same time it has very comfortable leather seats, a BOSE sound system, and is relatively quiet for what it is. I love the fact that I can go for a comfortable cruise or a long trip and be very comfortable, listen to music and not hear any of the outside noise, but at the same time if I want to get going, I can put my foot down and go.
Cons
The top negative thing is the maintenance costs. I am a student, so I don't have a ton of money coming in. This car has bled me dry on maintenance costs and I am thinking of selling it because of that. I had to replace the alternator on it, which on many cars is a relatively simple task, but for this Audi it cost me over $1,000. That is a ridiculous price to just have to remove a belt and bolt in a new alternator.

I loved driving my S4, it made driving on long trips comfortable and a joy. The ride is so smooth that if you don't pay attention you'll be going way over the speed limit before you know it. The drivers seat is like the cockpit of a fighter jet, it wraps around your body so secure your for your next adventure. The clutch and the shift stick are smooth allowing you to take advantage of the upgraded suspension taking turns fast and nimbly. The car responds like a cheetah. The S4 even handles well in snow, the Quattro allows the car to thrive in any weather. I drove my S4 everywhere, it made driving a pleasure. It's a quality care for people who are not pretentious and value quality. A similar class luxury car would not have the same amount of amenities and "bells and whistles" wi... (more)
Story
Driving down Ocean Drive in Miami is always a blast, but having a nice car that you have the windows down and the sunroof open with the music turned up makes cruising the South Beach even more fun.
Pros
The pick up speed, The sound system, No road noise, Engine response, Upgraded rims etc.
Cons
Trunk space was great, however it's difficult to get some luggage into the trunk.
