I love this vehicle. It drives like a car, but still has an SUV shape and feel. It makes it easy to maneuver in and out of traffic. All this while still going at considerable high speeds. I enjoy the fact that with a push of a button it remembers and holds in my choice of seating position. This makes it easier when my husband drives because he changes the seating and it is usually pretty hard to get back to the right setting afterwards. Another pro to the vehicle is the panoramic sunroof. I have the versatility of letting in sun or opening it full to catch the wind. One of my major cons with this vehicle is that too often I have found certain parts fail. Our sunroof motor failed a while back and replacing or fixing it became a real costly chore. Another failure was the back window mot... (more)
Story
Speeding on the express way late at night. I love the idea of going late nights in this SUV. Letting the sunroof back and windows down and the night air going through my hair. One night a dodge charger was out too and we both, going about the same speed, went down the express way going in and out of lanes to avoid other drives.
Pros
The driving capabilities of the vehicle. It is very smooth and has a nice speed range to it. Despite overheating issues, the vehicle did not blow a head gasket.
Cons
The top negative is the plastic parts. They fail, and in a dangerous way. The coolant compartment is made of plastic and even a small hole or dent in that thing will cause leakage and over heating.

2004 BMW X3 - I love my BMW X3, but it has its downsides.

I got my 2004 BMW X3 in late 2013 with 99k miles on it, and it is currently pushing 170k miles. I love the look and feel of the car. After three years of constantly driving, it still runs great. The car did break down for a bit, but after a new alternator and some new replacement parts. It was surprisingly good as new.
Story
I've taken my BMW X3 all along the coast, and I've loved exploring states with it. One fun memory I had was when my friend and I's hotel reservation got cancelled, we drove to a secluded area and slept in the car -- it was extremely roomy!
Pros
My BMW X3 is fast. I definitely do not need to worry about speed in my car, because driving on the interstate can sometimes feel like driving on the Autobahn. I've gotten pulled over as I sometimes get caught up in speeding, and the car is red, but it just a really nice, high-quality car. I expect to put at least 50k more miles on it, but 100k would be ideal before I purchase a new car!
Cons
One main con about my BMW X3 is the gas. I got this car at the end of high school, and when I took it to college, I moved from the country to the suburbs, and of course, gas prices went up. I find myself paying over $50 per tank to fill up, because the car requires premium gasoline. Also, the mileage is bad, as my car averages about 21 miles per gallon.
