This car is a great car. It is easy and fun to drive. I really liked all of the different colors it came in. I ended up choosing the red, and I am very pleased with this car. This car has held up well to the wear and tear of the road. It has needed minimal repairs and has overall not given me many problems. It reliably starts, and it never gives me a hard time at all. I also really enjoy how fast it is. I have driven many sport SUVs that do not have much power behind the wheel. These cars are not that much fun to drive and really lack in power. However, with this vehicle, that is never an issue. There is a ton of pep to this car, and I never have felt dissatisfied with the acceleration. It also has a ton of room for storage. I have moved in and out of school with all the room in the ve... (more)
Story
One memorable experience I had in my vehicle was I was driving around with my sunroof and all my windows open, and it started to rain and totally soaked me.
Pros
This car has a great engine that is able to accelerate well. There is a ton of room for storage. Enough to move someone to and from college. It also comes in many great colors. It has great handling.
Cons
The major negative things were some minor wear on the steering wheel. I also wish it got better gas mileage.

2007 BMW X3 - Great vehicle while under warranty and then everything begins to break.

The BMW X3 had very weak gaskets that caused severe oil leaks. I had four different appointments to get the leaks addressed and fixed. A mechanic told us the gaskets weren't made for hot climates like Texas. In less than three months owning the car we had a leak on the passenger side where the water from the air conditioner would pool on the passenger car mats. They replaced something pretty major inside the console which was a major job.
Story
The fun thing about the BMW X3 was the built-in GPS. That helped out a great deal while driving around Germany.
Pros
The BMW X3 worked great while under warranty for four years or 48000 miles. The warranty was bumper to bumper including oil service. With the exception of the leaky air conditioner we didn't have any problems for the first 48000 miles.
Cons
The top negative concerns were the many oil leaks and the expense to fix them. The next problem was with the battery. I replaced the BMW battery with a battery from Walmart and that didn't work. I went through two batteries before I learned the BMW X3 takes a proprietary battery only sold by BMW. More money than I wanted to pay for a battery. The next con was the starter that went bad and had to be replaced. That is a major ordeal since the starter is located on the firewall. Major money for that job as well. Moral of the story is be prepared to shell out the dollars if you need to fix a B... (more)
